The awaited moment

After some days without being able to be with you again I have the privilege of writing again, I have lost much sleep in these days and the time has not been enough for me to be in steemblockchain as usual and the reason is that after nine months of waiting my baby has finally been born, so this is an article to share my experience with you and introduce you to the girl who has been keeping me awake all these days, my beautiful daughter!

Unexpected advance

Since I knew that my wife @karlitav was pregnant I decided to save in steem power because I believe in the potential of steemblockchain and I know that it can help a lot in the future of my daughter, all those who read my articles should already be aware of the current situation in my country and although I have a job as a professional the salary is not enough to have a modest purchasing power so since I joined steem I have received great financial help.

I was at work when my wife called and said, "love you're going to have to come home, it seems I'm about to give birth."

We didn't know if it would be a birth or a cesarean because the time had not yet come to take the exam that indicated this, and based on these data I would have to look for a half-decent place where I could be attended. None of that was defined, besides my health insurance does not cover even one consultation, nor hers because the devaluation has devoured the limits of insurance. I came home as fast as I could and we did the necessary errands to complete what was missing, the cost of the 37,000 Bs.S. clinic which is the equivalent of 20.5 minimum wages and all that had to come out of my pocket. I had just collected the fortnight so I had some money thank God, most of the money to pay for the clinic has come from steem, I did power down some time ago and that's where I got most of it to pay for the clinic.

It was 3 days from the moment my wife called me to work until the pains appeared, since it is our first experience we did not know if those were the birth pains or still had to wait more but it was getting dark and I took the precaution of taking her to the clinic because then it would be impossible to find a taxi to take her, we called the doctor and it was left to let her know when we arrived, so we went to the clinic.

A long night

It was about 10 o'clock at night when we arrived at the clinic, the doctor checked on my wife and said the delivery would be after 5 o'clock in the morning so she went home to sleep even though the nurse gave a different opinion but the doctor has more study than the nurse (and in my opinion she also wanted to sleep) so she went home to rest and we had no choice but to stay at the clinic, a whole clinic where only my pregnant wife, my mother-in-law, the nurse and myself were. Thus began the night in the room assigned to us, my wife complained every moment of pain and the hours began to pass in anguish while I continued to regret that the doctor should have stayed with us.

Around two o'clock in the morning in one of my wife's many efforts to alleviate her pain, we all noticed that the baby was almost out. The nurse immediately and with a worried face took the phone and called the doctor to come.

The doctor didn't take long to arrive, I must admit, I was the one who opened the door of the clinic because the nurse on duty was attending to my wife, I remember her face of sleep and disbelief and how when she saw me she asked me if my wife had already voted liquid, how if everything was a false alarm on our part, I told her that the liquid had voted more than an hour ago so she hurried her way to the room where my wife was. When I managed to close the door and went to the room I was treating her there, she arrived late to the delivery and did not have time to move her to the operating room, I was so annoyed to see the risk in which I had exposed my wife and my daughter that I decided to leave the scene so as not to disturb her work and make things worse because I did not want to blame her for her negligence.

While full of rage I walked from one side to the other along the corridor, I heard that sound that filled me with joy. I don't know how many parents are happy to see their children cry but hearing my daughter crying that night made me forget for a moment the doctor's negligence. He left the room with the girl to treat her and my wife remained in the room bed with the bloody bed, he had to make some cuts to speed up the delivery so I saw my wife in a small well of blood and again I was filled with indignation, not because I cut her but because I do not think that place full of bacteria was the place for that, it was necessary to save the two but it would not have been so if from the beginning he had not gone home to sleep while his patient was in labor pains. That was the dominant thought at the time and it still irritates me a little to remember it.

Then he transferred my wife to the O.R. to finish treating her and at the end everything went well. My wife and daughter were fine.
