Come rain or shine, fishermen will seize the day!
Here are a few boats, docked in the Rio Ave (Ave River), at Vila do Conde, a town known by its fishing traditions. For centuries, the people of this town have turned to the river and the sea to guarantee they have food on the table.
The boat on the left, however, is there merely for decoration - it's not meant to be used, although I'm quite sure it would work pretty well, if needed.

Today the fishing activity has reduced a bit... but traditions like this don't fade away quickly. From morning to evening, you can see fishermen here, every single day.

The boat on the left remind me of the same boat here called "phinisi". That's a cool boat. I have been in one of them sailing for 3 days. 😄

Why does the second photo look yellowish? And how long is the fishing pod?
Hmmm... Maybe because of all the sand on the floor and the sun reflecting on it?
That fishing rod seems to be 10m long, at least! These guys are pros! 😀
