On Friday I hosted a radio show about veganism, and then I watched Earthlings...
On Friday I hosted a special Vegan edition of The Alternative Lifestyle Show.
Prompted by an earlier interview with @teamsteem I thought it would be a topic worth exploring further.
I was not disappointed. The depth of discussion was amazing. I had not realised how many different layers there are to the subject.
The ten guests on the show each told their own story of why they became vegan and what it means to them. Between them we explored all aspects of veganism - health, planetary impact, animal welfare, vegan anarchy and more.
For me personally it was by far the most interesting radio show I have produced. I am very grateful to all the participants who took the time to come on the show :

Listening to all the discussions made me think, and then think some more.
I have been vegetarian in the past, and since my previous interview with @teamsteem I have been vegetarian again. That has been quite easy, but as a hen hodling homesteader taking the next step is more difficult.
Earthlings
During the interviews both @ura-soul and @mckeever mentioned the documentary 'Earthlings'. @ura-soul had mentioned this to me when I interviewed him previously but I only caught a few minutes of it then. Yesterday I made time to watch the whole video.
This is an extremely powerful video - bits of it I knew, much of it I suspected, most of it I wish I hadn't seen.
But it exists and I don't want to be part of it.

I still have a short distance to go on the journey, and questions to ask along the way.

Earthlings really is a game changer. It's the kind of documentary you only need to watch once, or twice, at the most.
Thank you @pennsif for having me on the show, and I can only hope the viewers are as open-minded as you are about veganism/goldenrulism.

Heh, people like to recommend what the health nowadays, but I like to throw em in at the deep end!
It's really a 3 pronged attack: Earthings, Cowspiracy and What the Health (or one of the other health ones--doesn't really matter which, they all come to the same conclusion).
Thank you again @pennsif for having me on the show. It was a great experience and opportunity to supprt the vegan movement. I really enjoyed listening to all other guests: their storries were very insightful and I learned a lot.
I never had the chance to listen to any of your shows but I'll sure make this one of my first given the importance of the topic and because it's the most interesting one you made. I'll be coming back later

Not directly related to this, but I have a debate about veganism in general:
France is banning meat-like terms from packaging vegetarian/vegan food.
Firms will no longer be able to use "burger", "steak", "sausage" or “fillet” to describe foods that have no meat in them, such as "ham" slices or "chicken" pies that are made of soya or wheat.
The rational is that it may confuse the customer.
“It is important to combat false claims. Our products must be designated correctly: the terms of #cheese or #steak will be reserved for products of animal origin,” tweeted Moreau, a farmer and member of president Emmanuel Macron’s political movement.
Do you think it is in someway supporting your cause, or are you against this initiative?
