Government Displeased Over Growing Vaping Trend

in #vaping5 years ago

The government says that vaping today is an epidemic that needs to be stopped.

According to the Surgeon General, Dr. J Adams, he has suggested that over the last year alone e-cigarettes have seen over a 70 percent increase in use. More teens today are open to the idea of vaping whereas many of them still might not b willing to start smoking cigarettes, or view cigarettes favorably, they see vaping as being “cleaner” for them than cigarettes.

The FDA has now sought to hold a public hearing to assess the public's perspectives on the potential for using drug therapies to decrease e-cigarette use today.

The same FDA that has persisted for years in refusing to acknowledge cannabis as a safe or effective drug, when there are thousands of people who might have been able to see drastic improvement from being able to access it.

The FDA wants to crackdown on vaping now because they “care about our safety”,... Yet, this organization routinely engages in actions that undermine public health.

It's been argued frequently that they often keep potentially life-saving drugs off the shelves because of the lengthy bureaucratic process involved with approval. Not only that, but they also approve of drugs that have been harmful to some.

It's estimated that a third of the drugs approved between 2001-2010 had some problems after being released to the market.

As well, the study also suggested that in the majority of cases there are approvals being given after those drugs had trials involving only 1,000 patients.

They have made costly mistakes and the assertion that they're doing all that they do because they care about our safety, while touching, isn't arguably the reality that we are given over decades of operation for this organization.

Do teens need to kick their vaping habit?

Shouldn't that be up to them or their parents? It isn't the responsibility of the government to tell us what we should be doing with our own bodies. After all, they have no higher claim over our own lives than we do.

Whether it's keeping live-saving drugs off of the shelves or permitting some to pass with their mighty stamp of approval, the mistakes that the FDA has made and the ways in which it interferes with the market can have widespread and costly results.

There are no doubt a variety of other more pressing matters to be concerned about on a daily basis than whether or not teens today might be vaping. Trying to decide for them is also an effort to violate their natural rights and individual liberty; to limit their freedom.

I do not believe vaping is healthy at all. It's just a Modern Trend among the youth just as cigarettes were in their day. Honestly the only way to kick the habit is to go cold turkey. Mom quit cold turkey at age 46 and she still alive at 88. Dad could never quit and clocked out of this world at age 63. Thanks for sharing.

if you don't like it, don't do it :) no need to get government involved 😂

thanks for stopping by, happy holidays!

E-cigarettes have nicotine, which is addictive and can negatively impact young brains, motivate your blood pressure to move upward, along with your heart rate and other lung issues.

Stop before you start. Habits are so hard to break!

!tip for always covering important issues!

As long as they are of age, I agree. I was actually addressing the young as I see so many not even teenage agers vaping. Yikes!

Agreed with the sugar also... sugar is so addictive! Yes. :)

"of age" is subjective... at what point does the will of a child surpass that of their parents and they are able to represent themselves as their own person? To the point that they can decide what clothing they buy or music they listen to, what they drink or what they smoke, it's a decision for parents and individuals to consider... not the government :)

Yes! (Of age had to do with parental permission, not government)

Regarding sugar, I recently conducted an experiment. I use sugar to sweeten my coffee every morning, and I like it sweet.

Two weeks ago I quit adding sugar to my coffee. It tasted crappy, but I suffered no ill effects, no withdrawal whatsoever. I refrained from any sugar at all in my diet for a week. No addiction effects at all.

Sugar being addictive is a meme, nothing more. It's yummy to us, because it's the perfect fuel for our bodies, so we're evolved to like it. That's not addiction. It's just a matter of not overdoing it.

you can purchase vape juice with no nicotine though. Sugar, caffeine etc, is also addictive... with ANY substance a free individual should be able to decide for themselves and not have someone else make the decision for them :) regardless if something is addictive or not...

Government is inherently corrupt. Agencies like FDA become captive vectors for Big Agra/Big Pharma, and do whatever they do for the profit of those corporations - and the graft it brings the 'government servants' running the agency - not for the benefit of the public.

Hammer this point.

Everyone agrees that people need to be protected from criminals, harmful drugs, poisons in the food, etc., but government agencies are proved to empower criminals through graft inevitably. While we can agree we need to take steps to be protected, we can prove government agencies are not ever going to work well enough to do the job.

We can simply require that producers of products post surety bonds/insurance policies to indemnify victims of their products. When harm is proved, victims - not government bureaucracies or shady lawyers - are compensated. Insurance companies aren't as gullible as the public, and won't insure products that aren't safe cheaply.

Private research, laboratories, and such firms can be contracted to test products by consumers who won't have any desire to accept graft payments to accept BS studies instead of sound investigations, because if the products they use are harmful, no amount of money will undig their graves.

By sticking to sound and just principles, rather than resorting to extortion and theft (taxation and police force) we can not only be far more safe from bad products, but much more free and prosperous, because we'll only be paying for such service as we choose, and from who we choose, at our sole option.

Thanks!
