#2 Promoting Actifit - START HERE

A. Introduction

Today has been an exciting day for me as an ambassador for the Actifit Fitness Tracker. In the past week, I was able to reach out to both the Chinese and Filipino communities. Today, a large Filipino group was reached and now headed by @ruah, their new moderator. With so many new people joining the Actifit Discord Channel recently and asking how to get started, I am writing this simple guide to help everyone to succeed in doing well at Actifit, and at the same time to help promote the latest blockchain buzz, Actifit Fitness Tracker. If you have been living under a rock and do not know about Actifit, read on. New opportunities in the market are waiting for you to help you get in shape physically as well as gaining some wealth reward along the way.

B. Download the Actifit App

The Actifit Fitness Tracker App is currently only available for Android users. Go to Google play and download the Actifit App.

The Actifit team is working hard to get the iOS version out, so hopefully it will be released soon. Once the iOS is released, I am sure Actifit members will increase exponentially. Get on board today before the mad crowd comes in. It takes only a few seconds to get the app installed. The app has already been updated once, so keep up with the Actifit news to get the latest improvement on the app. The app is getting more and more powerful each time with the upgrade. For those of you who are using the lower Android version (5.0 and below), unfortunately you will get only the basic version and cannot be updated.

C. Simple Interface

After installation, you can use the app immediately to start tracking your steps. The interface is so neat and clean. When I first started, I could not believe that it was so easy and I was looking for different tabs to get started. There is no need. This is the magic of the app. You can start tracking your steps right away without all the fuss. The whole idea is to get you going with your step count.
Your phone has a sensor that directly picks up all your body movement so that you can see the total number of steps you take each day. Test it out by holding the phone in your hands and walk a few steps now. You will see the number counter moving right away.

D. Start Using These Tips To Do Well On Actifit

1. Total Activity Today

Each day, the number of steps are recorded. Right now, my number is 17 because I have only taken 17 steps so far. Your goal is to take at least a minimal of 5,000 steps daily to get an upvote reward from Actifit. This is a little motivation to help put you in shape. Some days I don't even get 5K and that becomes a reminder for me to get out of my house and do some exercises.

  • Please note that the app does not require wifi to connect to internet to work at all.
  • Do not put your phone inside your purse as it will not be able to sense your movement at all. That's what I did on my first day, and it did not record much of my body movement at all even though I walked for 4K.
  • Always attach your phone to your arm or leg when you go out for exercises.

2. Post to Steemit

When you have finished doing your walking or exercises for the day, always post your Fitness Report Card onto Steemit. Remember to post your record before the day ends. Once your phone turns after midnight to a new day, the Total Activity Count will turn back to "0." That will be too late for you to post onto Steemit for that day's record. Please take this big tip to heart as many people fail at this point.

3. Steps to Post on Steemit

Key in your Username. Omit the "@".

Key in your Steemit Private Posting Key. Do not key in your password.

The Post Title: My Actifit Report Card: Today's Date automatically get recorded.

The Activity Count will automatically get recorded.

Activity type: Tab on the triangular tab to tick the activities you did on that day.

For Areobics: Key in the measurements.

Post Tags: 'Actifit' is there by default; Key in your other appropriate tags for your audience.

Post to Steemit: When you hit this tab, your Fitness Report Card will show up on your Steemit blog immediately. Here, you need wifi connection for this action.

E. Get Involved with Other Actifits

Actifit team writes daily reports and lists out the Top 10 that are on the leadership board for that day. Here, you get to see how other Actifits are doing as you compare your activity score with them. It is not so easy to get to Top 10 as I only managed to get into the Top 10 once on July 24th Post.

This was quite a milestone for me where I came in No. 7 with 22,801 step count. I went out hiking that day and did a little bit of cycling along the way, jogged and ran a bit.

It's good to try to get recognized with other Actifit members and push yourself to the next milestone. That's where the community comes in. You are not doing exercises alone. Other members in the community do come in to comment your posts. Afterall, the Actifit movement is not all about rewards although in the process you get rewarded with 100 Tokens for having reached the 10,000 mark. It's great to get featured in the Top 10, especially when there is a link to your post so that people can see what you have done to reach to such a high score. This in turn will also motivate other athletes to do more workout to reach to the top. I have yet to reach No. 1. For that, I need to build up my body stamina. Actifit Fitness Tracker is pushing me towards that goal.

F. The Kind of Activities To Get Involved In

There are a lot of activities you can participate in to gather your steps count. When I began, I thought only sport activities count but not so. Take a look at the following activities that you can "tick" in the box when you post onto Steemit:

  • Basketball
  • Boxing
  • Cycling
  • Daily Activity
  • Dancing
  • Elliptical
  • Football
  • House Chores
  • Jogging
  • Martial Arts
  • Moving Around Office
  • Rope Skipping
  • Running
  • Shopping
  • Shtair Mill
  • Table Tennis
  • Tennis
  • Treadmill
  • Walking
  • Weight Lifting

I was surprised to see house chores and shopping counting as activities. Come to think of it, they are really part of daily activities where it requires a lot of body movement. Shopping? While shopping has to do with spending money, you really end up doing a lot of walking too. The whole idea of the app is to get you moving and not get stuck in a couch or in bed all day. Even mowing the lawn can be heavy exercises and can be classified as 'Daily Activity'.

G. Follow the Actifit Curation Trail

Everyday, Actifit upvotes all members who manage to do at least 5,000 steps. For these people who post their Fitness Report Card, they get an upvote from Actifit. The upvote varies depending on the number of submissions of the day. Yesterday, I got a reward of 0.55 upvote, the highest I have received so far. From the latest post on July 30th they have now reached 67,075 SP. This is a lot of achievement in a month's time. We ambassadors, too, have been doing great work in the promotion to get Steemians to delegate their SP.

  1. Make it a habit to post your Fitness Report Card everyday.
  2. Follow the Actifit Curation trail in @Steemauto because for every upvote you give to the Actifit member, you receive 1 AFIT Token. You can easily accumulate 100 AFIT tokens daily by cheering other members with your upvote.

H. Activity History

The app keeps a record of your Activity History. Use the Activity history to monitor your fitness record. Here is mine every since I started on July 22nd.
Data reveals a lot about your situation, so make good use of the record to help you move from one milestone to the next. It's all about keeping fit. This is the whole point of the app - to help you maintain a healthy position. From my record, I definitely need to move more to get to the minimum requirement of 10,000 steps to keep fit. I only managed to do that in 3 days out of 10 days. Use this app to help you reach from one milestone to the next and increase your steps daily each day.

You have explained very clearly to new users, what it is and how the application works. however, a part of the publication can be considered as basic project information, and we can find some of this basic information in another posts like the announcing post by the project owner and in this series by curtwriter. We can say that the extra value in these points is that your post is based on a more current version of the application.

Also, you have included information about the Actifit Curation Trail and the Activity History functionality. About these issues we had not heard in any series.

For screenshots is not necessary... But for photographies it is a good practice to give the credits, even if they are yours. You can add a little text below the photographies using the <sub> tag, or specify at the end of the submission that you're the owner of the photographies.

Yeah, I am lucky to be able to jog along the waterfront here and we can see the bridge with the sun set behind it. I took the picture facing the other way though here. Next time I will catch the sun set but will be darker.

Good info. Following the trail. What percent should the person place for it?

It depends on how many people you are voting everyday. Remember there are about 100 posts to upvote, so you need to set it accordingly. Around 5% is reasonable. But if you can't, you can set it lower.
