I want to help @utopian-io project, and here is how i can do it (moderator application)

Good day to all Steemians and Utopians.

This post is my application to moderate Portuguese Translations on the @utopian-io Project.

Why i want to become a @utopian-io moderator?

I read about @utopian-io on the first week that i joined Steemit, from @cryptoctopus on this post where he talked about @elear, and how he got big on Steemit by creating @utopian-io project.

Because the @utopian-io is one of the most revolutionary thing i have seen so far regarding blockchain technologies. Together with Steemit, a project like this have a huge potential of raising awareness about what the blockchain can do to improve everyone lives. I see @utopian-io as a sucessful experiment, that in the future may be used as a reference to create a new colaborative economy in many different business.

Who am i and what are my skills?

I am a Civil Engineer for 11 years, and my main field of knowledge is in construction site management. I have been assigned to lead small and big teams. And the bigger lessons i have learned so far is that:

• Sometimes you fail, but what matter is what you learn from this failure.
• People is the most valuable asset any team can have.
• When you lead, you must also serve.

Since each construction is a project in its essence, i finished an MBA on Project Manangement on FGV, one of the best post-graduation schools here in Brazil.

As a translator i don't have any professional experience (besides Utopian), but i started to study english at the age of 12, and at that age i was already involved with computers (the first computer i used was an MSX that my dad had), wich helped me a lot to develop my English.

Also i had contact with some international exchange students, since a girlf from Costa Rica lived with my and my parents for one year. Until they learned Portuguese, the best way for them to communicate was using English.

What have i done to @utopian-io so far (proof-of-work)?

At the moment, i am already helping @utopian-io by doing translation contributions. So far i have done 11 contributions, translating:

• Utopian Landing Page
• ReactOS project
• Steem bluepaper
• Steem whitepaper (8 contributions so far)

Besides that, i always try to help the newcomers, explaining them the @utopian-io rules, and making suggestions to improve the life of moderators and contributors.

How else can i help the project?

Besides helping the team by moderating translation contributions in Portuguese language, i will also use the knowledge i acquired in project management to try to find ways to improve the workflow for all sides, helping the team to improve the efficiency of the work and the users to have more quality on their contributions.

As a plus, i think @utopian-io community may also help me to start to learn coding and other skills useful for me and for the project.

And as soon as i have enough SP, a part of it will definetly be redirected to @utopian-io

These 5 contributions is part of the same project and are written with similar text, what makes it possible to review them together.

Problem No 1 - Post formatting. The user post is not formal and have text not related to the work, in particular, the last part of the post
Problem No 2 - There is an excessive use of machine translation. Filtering the translation page by strings translated with MT or TM, 6 of 4 pages are fully translated with MT or TM. Also, most of the ones that aren't marked as TM looks like he only changed a few words. Some of them are still not a good translation.

After that, i would report the supervisor about the user. I would suggest that we give the user a second chance, since this is his first contribution on Utopian.

The translation is pretty good, and followed all the translation/Utopian rules but the contribution post could have some improvements.

Even though i can't translate Turkish, this contribution caught my attention because it is about a project that is not open source, and the user posted about 2 projects on the same report.

• This category is meant only for translations you have updated or created for an Open Source project.

Factorio Is not an Open Source Project. Even if there is a Crowdin project page, make sure that the project is open source and have a github project page.
Also, for better future contributions here is some guidelines:

• You must use formal language when reporting about a translation
• You must state how much work were done on the translationm like how many words were translated on the contribution
• Only post about one project per contribution. The Repository must be the the one related to the open source project.
• The contribution must contain the link to the github page related of the project you are making the contribution.

4 - Since there weren't any more contributions pending review in Portuguese, i looked for an older contribution that could be improved.

Checking the Crowdin project page, I noticed that the user put a lot of efffort on the translation, including making better quality translations than the older suggestions.

Altough, the post contributions lack some information required.
