This is the second open source project that I contributed a translation activity and at the same time as an approved translator for Filipino language - which is an initiative being spearheaded by @davinci.polyglot and @utopian-io.

Steem Whitepaper

Anyone who is into blockchain or cryptocurrency platforms have heard about “white papers”. White papers is an important document which gives the potential users or readers the idea behind a certain cryptocurrency project and at the same time, it helps potential investors to know the goal of the project and what it aims to offer to the real world or perhaps what innovation or problem they are trying to solve in today’s market. It also helps people to identify the legitimacy of a certain project. And thankfully, for this report, I translated our very own Steem’s White Paper. It is an honour for me to localized this very important document to my native language which is Filipino.

Well, as a Steemian, we are glad that this blockchain is continuously improving, wherein many decentralized applications are running on top of this amazing platform. These decentralized applications (dApps) include @utopian-io, @steemhunt, @dtube and etc., for which users are rewarded by creating quality contents related to the guidelines of each dApp. Users too can monetize their quality contents that are hosted thru their personal websites (those being connected to Wordpress) and this is made possible by @steempress-io. @actifit also is a fitness dApp that rewards users for doing fitness activities and honestly, there are lots of projects running in Steem platform. Additionally, last month, Steemit undergone a major hardfork which prepares the blockchain for the introduction of Resource Credits and hopefully to the much awaited SMT (Smart Media Tokens).

Crowdin Translation Report

For the Steem Whitepaper English to Filipino translation, this happens to be my second part out of two parts. I was able to have an accumulated translated words as viewed from reports which amount to 2,191 words inclusive of the non-translatable words and codes. Digging deeper, I was able to translate 2,011 words, wherein 828 words was submitted thru my 1st report, and for this second report; 1,103 words were translated. When add the total translated words for first and second report, it amounts to 2,011 and thereby resulting to a total number of non-translatable words to 180 and since for the first it has 58 non-translatable words, this would in turn make this second report having a 122 number of words that are not translatable which are generally, codes and key blockchain terms. In the photo below, it shows my translation reports as found in Crowdin. Lastly, part of this localization contribution was proofreaded by @ruah - the Language Moderator (LM) for Filipino Language.

Hi @josephace135, Thank you for contributing to the Davinci-Utopian Translation project!
This is your 4th contribution to the translation category so far and 2nd contribution to the @steem whitepaper translation.

  • The report is well presented, but I would like you to add where string did you start and where did you finish the translation, it will help the reviewer a lot to verify the strings you are translating.
  • Some minor imprecisions on the translations, please always double check the string before you leave them. ex. this string should be sumusunod na feed rate instead of feed rate ng sinusubaybayan.
  • tip, attacker can be translated as umaatake.
  • keep improving and make sure to double check each string before posting the contribution, if you're having a doubt about your translation don't be shy to ask your co-translator or me.
