We need a "Decentralized Exchanges Link" for Steemit front-end! To make users to start learning more on Decentralized Exchanges which is the future for exchanging crypto
I came up with this idea of adding to a "Decentralized Exchanges Link" on the Steemit front-page, so that people on steemit and potential users start learning more on Decentralized Exchanges which is the future for exchanging crypto, and will be the gateway for people to continue buying steem, bitshares, and eos, and other crypto once governments on each country start getting worst with centralized exchanges.
For the time being we have Bitshares in my opinion as the very known decentralized exchange, and it is noticeable that every day people are getting more used in how to use it. I remember 2 months ago that Bitshares was running at 40 cents as now, or similar, and Bittrex decided to remove it from its exchange and that made Bitshares loose buying volume, and produced lots of selling, and it went to 5 cents. Well I have to say, thanks Bittrex for giving many of us the opportunity to buy Bitshares at so low price.
Now Bitshares by itself and with its gateways was able to make it to 40 cents again, and no help from centalized exchanges. This is great news, because we are showing here that crypto can work independently, and its acceptance is very high from people, without the need of government controls.
I also read a post from "jerrybanfield" yesterday about his proposal to make a Steem Decentralized exchange. This would be something really great for the steem blockchain and the world of cryptocurrency.
All this being said, I believe that being all the steemit community educated on decentralized exchanges from now, will create a very important impact when we start hearing more and more that governments are checking centralized exchanges. Because if they block centralized exchanges, the only route to buy steem, bitshares, and crypto will be via decentralized exchanges.
Here are 2 possible locations and a second option for one of the locations, to place the link on the front-end of steemit:
This post/page of the "Decentralized Exchanges Link" will mention the most important aspects on Decentralized Exchanges:
1- What are decentralized crypto exchanges?
2- How to use Bitshares decentralized exchange? We can show samples of transactions with each of the gateways from and to other wallets, and exchanges
3- A brief panorama of what could happened worldwide with centralized exchanges, and why decentralized exchanges are the solution
In addition to the specifics on decentralized exchanges, this proposed post/page will explain everything we need to know about Steem, Steemit, Utopian-io, and how we can get involved, either by being a sponsor, or being part of the promo steem, or by helping spread the word, or any other activities that add value to the blockchain.
This are some of the other items that can be covered:
1- What is steem (for potential users)
2- What is steemit(for potential users)
3- How is steemit adding value to the world by supporting communities around the globe?
4- How you earn rewards on steemit and utopian-io
5- How can utopian-io delegate or help facilitate sponsors to delegate SP to certain projects?
6- What is delegating SP and what are the community and earning benefits?
7- How you can convert steem or sbd rewards into bitcoin, ethereum and litecoin or other crypto, and finally into fiat
8- What is a steemit mentor? Do you need a mentor? (We can link the person with the promo-steem team or a steembassador)
9- Any other important features that will help people learn this is true, and that to get the real impression that the steem blockchain and steemit are an open and very helpful community, whose aim is to enpower people, return the control to them, leaving banks and governments on the side.
Main Reason why I believe adding this link is important:
Having this post page, can be an important place for steemians and new visitors to learn about how decentralized exchanges will help in the situation that governments checking more and more on centralized exchanges, so they will be prepared when the time comes. I believe that having this link to learn all this, will increase the people believe on the platform and the steem blockchain, and can be another feature to make people decide to give it a try, as well as start thinking how they can add value to steemit.

i agree that we should be promoting decentralized exchanges but also i think we need to advise on additional ways to get on the internet for when the FCC comes locking things down around 'access'
@teamhumble exactly. You brought a good point. The other day I was reading a post about indonesia and the possibility they want to ban cryptocurrencies or at least several sites for their country not to have access to. So in order to help avoid that, they will need VPNs before that happens. What do you think? Which other solutions are possible?

i've got a few ideas that i want put out there in the coming months, mainly around setting up local mesh networks but you still need a 'backhaul' connected to the net so it's getting that paid for and masked with multiple lines of redudancy in place. but what i'm thinking could be a block by block steemit powered community ;)

yeah that's often the hard bit but simply put you have lots of receivers of aerials in a network and each one is meshed to the next one, think of piggy backing someone, where as the piggy backing (carrying someone on your back) is you are giving the next cell or mesh receiver internet, the 'backhaul' or the source could be miles away, but it allows everyone to effectively receive internet from a source potentially better and less traffic shaped, slowed etc, putting internet and faster speeds in the hands of those with no access -- the steem part was how do we then add incentives on a street by street level to get people not only onto steem to help cover the costs of installation and education, know your neighbours better but take better stewardship of your block or area, bring in sharing economy ideas etc -- money for the main feed could be brought in by a similar way witnesses work here on steemit.
Being somewhat new to crytpocurrency it's hasrd for me to understand all of the moving pieces like Decentralized exchanges. I know there is a lot of information out there but having it all here would be good for the user and Steemit. As a community could we curiate the best content like this and throw it in it's own section for new and potential users?
@thedfadvisor good point. For the time being on steemit, we can't save posts as favorites. I am not sure but busy.org is another site like steemit (both show the steem blockchain posts), and perhaps we can save favorites there.
What I do sometimes when I really like a post, I resteem it, so in this way you can have it in your blog for easier future consulting, and you are also helping the post reach more users this way, as well as helping your curations rewards, in case you upvoted it. So a resteem is a win to win situation for all, when content is of real quality.
