Project Details

Node.js is an open-source, cross-platform JavaScript run-time environment that executes JavaScript code outside of a browser... Node.js allows the creation of Web servers and networking tools using JavaScript and a collection of "modules" that handle various core functionality... Node.js represents a "JavaScript everywhere" paradigm, unifying web application development around a single programming language, rather than different languages for server side and client side scripts.

In simple words, this project brings value to the open source community because it facilitates the creation of all sort of applications using JavaScript, and provides a lot of help and versatility to developers. If you want to know more about this project feel free to visit its website

  • Translation Overview

This is my first contribution to this project and I decided to start with the folder deprecations.md, as the name implies, it was about explaining the different kinds of deprecations. It was important to always take into account the context, and there were a few words that weren't translated because the text would have lost its true meaning.

Deprecation is defined as follows:

Deprecation is the process of marking attributes or features that should be avoided by users, including Web developers. Deprecation may be applied for various reasons, including one of the most common, which is the availability of more practical and effective alternatives. | Source

I keep hearing that Java is a dying language but there always seems to be new projects and jobs based around it...I couldn't learn C++ though so I doubt I'd be able to tackle it, heh.

but there always seems to be new projects and jobs based around it

Yes, it is so widely used that it will surely take a lot of time for it to become irrelevant.

so I doubt I'd be able to tackle it

I guess with enough time you will be able to take a good grasp of it.
