Project Details
Node.js is an open-source, cross-platform JavaScript run-time environment that executes JavaScript code outside of a browser... Node.js allows the creation of Web servers and networking tools using JavaScript and a collection of "modules" that handle various core functionality... Node.js represents a "JavaScript everywhere" paradigm, unifying web application development around a single programming language, rather than different languages for server side and client side scripts.
In simple words, this project brings value to the open source community because it facilitates the creation of all sort of applications using JavaScript, and provides a lot of help and versatility to developers. If you want to know more about this project feel free to visit its website
Contribution Specifications
- Translation Overview
This is my fourth contribution, the folders called deprecations.md and path.md are now 100% completed, which is why I started to work in the folder called util.md. On this occasion, there was a lot of code involved in the strings, so I had to be really careful when figuring out the words that should be left untranslated. When there was code involved the part that should be translated started with this "//", indicating that the following text was a comment and it should indeed be translated to make it easier for other developers to understand what they are working on. The util.md folder is basically about the different utilities there are available.
When working on this contribution I was able to learn the meaning of the following word:
Wildcard: In computing, a wildcard refers to a character that can be substituted for zero or more characters in a string. Wildcards are commonly used in computer programming, database SQL search queries, and when navigating through DOS or Unix directories via the command prompt. | Source
In the previous contributions, I included the definition of these terms: deprecation, I/O - input/output, callback, asynchrony, POSIX, parsing and path.
- Languages
Source language: English
Translated language: Spanish
I have made several contributions in the past, and I also published a series of articles in both languages. Currently, I am part of the Utopian + DaVinci Spanish team.
