On Wednesday, May 30th we had our first Open Source Radio show on MSP Waves network.

We had a great time on our first episode with guests, Open Source news and laughs. The show was hosted by the amazing @jedigeiss. He was joined by our bringer-of-news @techslut as well as two guests, @elear and @tensor. (BTW jedigeiss is the german name of a goat who is one with the Force.)

Your host - @jedigeiss

On this episode we have lots of great Open Source news from around the Open Source community. @techslut brought us five exciting news items from the Open Source world:

Someone Pledged $1 Million to the GNOME Foundation Anonymously

The Linux Foundation Announces Free Introduction to Open Source Networking Technologies Course

FRINX and China Telecom Beijing Research Institute Collaborate to Create Open Source-Based Network Control

As our special guest, the CEO of Utopian, @elear, stopped by to have a chat with @jedigeiss and share some Utopian insights with our live audience. We learn about what brought @elear (Diego) to the STEEM platform. We also discovered that before becoming an Open Source hero, he was apparently a child actor! Luckily for the Utopian community, he decided to leave the stage and focus on Open Source.

@elear shared with us some of the challenges Utopian has had to deal with recently, and some exciting new plans to develop the New Open Source economy on the blockchain and beyond.

Our audience guest this week was @tensor, a seasoned programmer who has been an outstanding contributor to several Utopian categories in recent months. He shares some of his insights with @jedigeiss, and promises to return and share more in upcoming episodes.

This episode was really cool. I heard it last week when you shared the raw recording and I was really glad that you recorded it because I could not be present and listen in the channel. Thanks for that and I am looking forward to the following episode, hopefully, I can be there and listen, finally.

Edit: I saw you wrote some numbers of listeners last week. Do you have an overview of how many people were new to Utopian and either were not in Utopian discord or never heard of it before the show?

Edit 2: Not to forget that @elear shared his history in one of his older posts. https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@elear/who-am-i-short-autobiography This might bring more light on who elear is :)

Thanks for the note @espoem. Many of the listeners last week were Utopian friends but some were new. I know some of the names that were there and I would estimate that 25% were new to Utopian. I did not keep track of the actual names just the numbers. Thanks for sharing elear's post.

it very interesting to listen to what a programmer could say in an interview. Good job!

always painful to listen to my own voice. Otherwise, good first episode.
