This is a weekly, semi-automated post where I will show some statistics and graphs of the development category. It will also serve as a showcase for the staff picks and task requests that were made in the current week. If you have any suggestions or things you'd like to see in this post, then please let me know!

I'm Mr. Meeseeks! Look at me! by @inertia

If you have multiple applications that need to perform actions as operations occur on the blockchain, then meeseeker is made for you! It will allow your applications to each perform actions for specific operations, without each application having to stream the entire blockchain. This obviously is a lot more efficient, so if you think this could be useful to you, then definitely read Inertia's post about it!

Cross-domain authentication is here! Big milestone reached! by @engrave

Before this update, users of Engrave blogs had to log in independently on every blog which was a huge disadvantage and usability killer. However, with this update, every user is able to log in on any blog, and interact with them, without the need to log in again! Think of it as something similar to Google authentication - it's definitely a great improvement!

Category summary

  • There were 34 contributions of which 32 have a chance of being rewarded, or already were rewarded.

  • The total reward from Utopian for development contributions this week (so far) is 537.0 STU.
  • There were a total of 22 unique contributors in the category. Of those 4 were new contributors in the development category (@blockchainstudio, @krnel, @inertia, @mattockfs).

Score distribution in the development category

Number of contributions per weekday

weekly_number_contributions.png

As you can see, Thursday was the day with the most activity in the development category. Saturday, Tuesday and Wednesday had the least activity in the entire week, but still had 4 contributions each, which is pretty good. It was pretty consistent across the entire week, and I hope it continues this way.

Average score, reward (STU) and time before review (hours) per week

weekly_overview.png
Time before review is the number of hours between the creation of the post and the time it is reviewed by a moderator.

Unfortunately the average score of contributions is down from 66.8 to 65.9 this week. Despite the average score having gone down this week, the average reward is up from 31.7 STU to 38.4. This is more than likely caused by the fact Steem's price had risen last week (although it is going down again). Finally, the number of hours it takes for us to get to a contribution and review it (on average) has gone down a lot from 20.4 hours to 16.0 hours.

Number of contributions reviewed per week

As you can see, the weekly number of reviews is up from 22 to 34! I wasn't expecting to get this many contributions this week, but apparently it's following a trend, as the number of contributions over the last two weeks (56) is also up compared to the two weeks prior to that (51)! Once again, this is probably caused by the rise in price, and unfortunately I suspect it will go down again next week.

Contributors

Number of unique contributors per week

With the number of reviews going up this week it's obviously not that surprising that the number of unique contributors has also gone up slightly from 21 to 22 this week, but of course this is still very cool nonetheless!

Most active contributor(s)

@dapeng

The number of contributions increasing compared to last week can nearly solely be attributed to @dapeng, as you can see! I guess he couldn't hold them in any longer and released them all at once!

Moderators

  • @amosbastian reviewed 8 contributions with an average score of 68.3.
  • @codingdefined reviewed 1 contribution with an average score of 14.0.
  • @emrebeyler reviewed 6 contributions with an average score of 71.2.
  • @helo reviewed 9 contributions with an average score of 74.6.
  • @justyy reviewed 8 contributions with an average score of 56.1.

Helo is still the number one most active moderator in the development category, but it's getting pretty close! Justyy and myself are just behind him, with Emre following slightly behind. Codingdefined hasn't been that active this week, but has posted a contribution after a long hiatus, so that's also cool to see.

Number of reviews per weekday

weekly_number_reviews.png

As you can see, Thursday was the day where we reviewed the most contributions in the development category. Sunday was the day where we reviewed the least.

This is another comprehensive report from you. It seems to be another great week for the category. The number of received contribution is pretty good. The little surge in the value of Steem definitely has its own impact. The value is picking up again, so we can expect more in the current week.

Thanks for the update, have a great week!

Please note that while the CM hasn't changed the footer, I am not scoring #iamutopian posts based on the questionnaire. They have their own metric, and that will be the case until we go live with the new guidelines and new questionnaire, which will be comprehensive enough to reflect these types of posts.
