[Make More Steem] When is the best time to buy upvotes?
As you might know I love to buy upvotes from @minnowbooster, because I always get more out than I put in. I don’t know of any other upvote service that can do this and I have tried many.
In another post I showed you what at different times the spilt between author and curator changes. Here is the break down again:
After 30 minutes - 25% to curator
Between 27 min and 30 minutes - 90% curator, 10% author.
Between 15 minutes and 27 minutes - 50% curator, 50% author.
Between 3 minutes and 15 minutes - 10% curator, author 90%
First 3 minutes after the post has been up. 0% curator, 100% author
So to buy an upvote in the first 3 min makes sense, but you don’t get the full 25%. You actually lose money from that upvote the whale made. There are 2 reasons for this. The change in price of steem in the next 7 days and because the upvote losses value in the first day because the whale vote gets diluted the more as the whale votes in that day.
At the moment I am either buying an upvote in the first 3 min and or after day 6 but before 6 days and 12 hours.
When you buy after day 6 you are sure to get most of your upvote cost back with the lease fluctuation in Steem price. You do lose 25% curation reward.
So when do you think is the best time to buy an upvote?

few days ago when they changed something from 5, my payments were returned and I was testing different numbers. 7.5 and 10 worked and it returned fraction of SBD
Try it, it gives great return. I now use 10SBD on my posts to bring them to the trending.
This is very interesting. I have been playing around with steemvoter to maximise curation rewards, however I wasn't aware of the specific times v curation %s except for the 20 mins and 30 mins markers.
Yes, play around with the timer on Steemvoter. Most people set it at 20 min because that is the default. You should get more curation rewards if you vote before the masses. :)

So there are no more thresholds? Like for example:
-3-6 minutes - curator 20% author 80%?
-6-9 minutes - curator 30% author 70%?
-9-12 minutes - curator 40% author 60%?

Hmm... For the moment i am still confused.
So, from what you say it is most profitable to use @minnowbooster (he is curator in your description):
Here we will get 90% of what amount he will vote us and 10% will go back to it.
And if i use randowhale (the calculations are good for other bots too i suppose) which is most of the time sleeping, i should note the hour of my post and calculate it to be the same: either in the interval 3 - 15min from posting own article or after 6 days and 12h?

@ilvstranger remember that there % refer to the 25% reward and not the total upvote amount.
Hmm... so if the bot vote in the first 3 minutes he will get nothing and the post author 100%?
