Christmas Week Continues: For the Aboriginals in Puchong

It was a joyous day for the kids for the Orang Asli kids in the Puchong district.

Most of the time when Malaysians hear about Puchong , the first thing that comes to their mind was: Chinese people, IOI Malls, and an Indian community Suburban Township.

Many do not know at the edges of Puchong district inland, where there are one of the green lungs of Kuala Lumpur still exist, lies a small village of aboriginals who do not get to live as privileged as their Chinese / Indian (more well off) neighbours.

Nevertheless, Christmas was still an all-cultural festive celebration for Malaysians; and why not bless the children there with some smiles and sweets too?

We provided dhal / daal (chickpea beans), rice, cooking oil and sugar, along with Milo (chocolate drinks), cookies and sweets for the children; and they rolled up their sleeves and show us how a festive meal can be done!

Of course, our basic provision ingredients are never enough for a scrumptious meal; they themselves have prepared some leaves harvested from the jungle that provided them natural sustainable food source.

While the younger ones busy cooking for the mass...

The seniors helped kept the open air kitchen tidy.

Nothing really beats cooking with wood, some would have said; and true enough, dishes that are done on induction cooker or gas stoves would lack the fire (??) that makes the dishes locked on their natural juices. Ask any senior Chinese folks who had experience cooking with wood; they would have said the same.

These are the blessings from the jungle to the aboriginal folks, and they have every means to give thanks to nature.

In the end, it's still a treat for the kids, with patience and orderly fashion , they receive their goodie treats before calling a day.

We were very blessed to have witness this loving celebration from the aboriginals, and because of your constant support, from the cyber space to the real world, many get to have a little more cheer in their lives before completing 2018.
