I am Elena, 28 years old, a young lady who survived many kind of abuses through my life since childhood.
After broking up with my ex from a violent relationship, I was on my own.
I had no family to turn to or someone to talk. I felt so alone. I started to work 3-4 days a week and with the money that I earned, I started to travel in many new places through London.
I enjoyed and I really needed to travel, I felt so relaxed.

I opened my profile on Facebook because I was looking to make friends but honestly it was really difficult. I felt so bored because the conversations that I had with those "friends" was quite unrespectible. Honestly I was thinking to close my fbook account but out of nowhere Andrew (@greatvideos), my boyfriend, sent a friend request.
In short time we started to talk and I liked him. He was very kind and like a gentleman in his talking.
And guess what? After 2 days only, we moved together. Since then we are still living together, we are inseparable.
He used to spend time on steemit every day since morning. I had no idea what he was doing but for me was weird because it was like a routine to him. He tried to explain to me what steemit is but I wasn't interested.
And then he asked me what do I like to do and I said : to draw. He said to me that I should draw and my drawing will be paid. I liked the idea, so I said I would give it a try and if it's not working for me I'll quite. He was so convincing and so sure that I will love it and when I signed in, he was so happy because he said he is gonna have more fun.
Honestly I was so excited when I did my introduction to steemit, I earned my first money on steemit, my first coment and I feel like I really have to say, I was really impressed by the way how everyone was welcoming me, everyone was so friendly.
I was trying to go in discord to talk to people but I was so shy and I knew no one. I had no idea what to say but I always said "hi" and slowly slowly I started to get more confident. (I still don't know why I was afraid to talk. Probably because I was afraid of not being judged. I realised people in here are equal and no one is being judged but seamed too perfect 👌 to be true 🤷). My mistake. Don't do the same mistake like mine. Everyone who wants to say something or to ask anything, feel free to talk. People in here really do help.

Well, well this is where the fun is starting.
How do I start?
Even from the first day was really enjoyable to spend time here. Why do I say that? Because for every article that I post, people are coming and leave comments about how good I've done, and all comments are very encouraging.
So, if at the beginning I had the intention of trying and making money, now I spend my time here because it's a lot of fun.
So, for me this site is 3 in 1. ( having fun, making money and very educational)

1st of all and the most important is how much fun I have. There is always something to do.
After my first 3 articles, I got stuck about what I am supposed to do next or to write(my English wasn't that good), so I started to read more about what other are doing and I found out about participating in contests, which was quite tempting. This way, there is always something to do.
2nd and incredible one, you are not wasting your time.
You make sure that you post good articles, and you are paid with real money. And again I'll suggest everyone to join steamgigs and PAL in discord if you want to get more friends and followers.
3th and the last one is very educational.
Let's just think, we are the ones that creates the articles. Reading more and writing more, we are getting more information, so we become more creative.

After only 3 weeks on steemit, my friends and my colleagues from work said to me that my English is better and the way I talk is changed (been told that I explain better 🙄).
I mean, to create an article, we have to use our imagination.
My boyfriend, @greatvideos, used to say : this site is very educational. Everyone on steemit respect each other. On steemit everyone learn how to be supportive with each other, otherwise we can't grow and we can't succeed.

He was so right. This site is the best because teach us how to socialise with other people around us.
And what should you wish more for? We are used to read, but not to write(apart from messaging).
Here, on Steemit.com, we can do both. Or 3 things again.

To read others's stories AND to write our own story And to coment, of course.
At the beginning, I didn't have many ideas about what I should write. Now, I don't know which article I should post because I have many ideas. This is a new world for me. I descovered about Minnows, bots, whales, etc... I descovered others hobbies like rapping, drawing, others making poems, etc... Others making contests, games and everywhere are winners.
Everything is so creative and everyone are simple people, like us. There are very inspiring stories and all of them are real stories, not imaginary ones. I have to say that @surpassinggoogle is my hero and my inspiration.

The difference between before and after joining steemit?

Before I was on my own and lost. I had no idea what to do with my life. I had no plans for the future and felt scared.
Now, I have friends and I feel like, how it is supposed to call?, HOME. I feel loved and appreciated. Here is only one RULE and that is TO BE YOURSELF !
Ohh... And another thing, I forgot to spend time on Facebook, but I should thank to fbook because through it I met @greatvideos and steemit.
