Ulog 20: Last night I told my husband this story about an eye opening event in my life, regarding Main Stream Media.

The Story:

When I was about 12 years old, back when the US News Stations had brand new fancy-dancy vans for reporting the news remotely, a hurricane hit the East Coast in the region of the Carolinas (N. & S. Carolina).

All the news stations rushed to the largest city on the coast to report on the scene. Oddly, the stations were all saying the same thing, with the same background, and inserting the same recorded footage. Yeah.

So, it turns out that the city did indeed accommodate the press and their need for power to run their vans by parking them all in the same parking lot -- and for their safety, keeping them there.

That was my #redpill about how easy it is to manipulate the media.

This is a ludicrous situation for today's world since every reporter can take a small camera or even their cell phone out into the world and report in with actual real visuals of the actual real situation. Their report can be recorded or live with the tap on the screen.

Then came the question I posed to him:

So why do we see the same exact news from so many news agencies? Same. Exact.

Then I put forth this theory:

The few media companies that are winning the Media Condensation War are parked in someone's or some entity's virtual "parking lot" somewhere. They are dependent on this source's power and money in order to maintain their own power.

They all have the same info fed to them. They all share a very similar mindset because of a "lovely club" that they enjoy either because of their common needs And/Or their common goals.

Right or Wrong?

Sinclair - 71.5%
Ion Media - 67.3%
Univision Communications Inc. - 45.2%
Tribune Media Company - 42.5%
Nexstar - 38.9%
CBS Corporation - 38.1%
21st Century Fox - 37.4%
Comcast Corp - 36.7%
TEGNA - 32.2%
Walt Disney Company - 22.5%

Notes:
Links are to MondoTimes "the worldwide news media guide". Each page gives information about the company and their companies.
Exception: Ion Media is linked to Wikipedia as they are not listed on Mondo Times. No idea why. I've already set up the links to Mondo Times but I suspect that the Wikipedia may have deeper info on the subsidiaries, etc.

The Percentage of Population Reach numbers come from FreePress.Net - Who Owns the Media. The % only includes their Television reach. It does not cover Cable, Internet, nor Print.

Then there's this which many say is still alive and well, claiming that the CIA releases Talking Points for the Media each morning at 4am EST.
