Money where my mouth is - Celebrating 7k SP

Everyone who has given me a few minutes of their time knows that I'm always spouting about how thinking long term is how we win this game. How it might not be important at all to focus on the valuation of tokens per say, but build a network, a community so that you can "survive" the crazy swings that are sure to come.

Well, I don't want those words to be just words. If I only said those things but doubted buying some STEEM at these prices I would be just playing a silly game so I here I am, showing my fellow Steemians, my community, I'm not going anywhere. Truth is that STEEM could drop to 70 cents and I would be scraping at least one benjamin to buy some more.

I said on this very blog I was going to reach 7k SP before the end of the month, but it's just the middle and my self set goal has been achieved. To be honest with you, I remember thinking back in February that I would probably never get "up there". I would see dolphin accounts like the unreachable elite class of STEEM, silly me.

I'm about to turn one year old on this platform, today marks day 349 but It seems like I've been "in the trenches" for a lot longer than that.

I wanted to write this short post to celebrate this tiny milestone. Even though it may not mean much to some, it means a lot to me, and hopefully if you are feeling like you could never pull it off, the fact that a regular joe has done so, will make you get pumped up and keep on grinding along.

I don't have a beer tonight, just a weird cup of coffee that is cold and nasty.. but I'm still celebrating with it.

    memo i am with you, i just received my first social security check last month, kind of hard to believe. So today i just made a deposit to pick up more Steem. Don't get me wrong I am not selling the farm, but this is much bigger than us. I think whales are working this market, and the metals. I get to spend this extra retirement on what ever i want, so i will put more into Steem/SP. When this market circles around I will be there with you!!!

    I beleave you are correct, we are in the baby steps stage. If you think about it like that it is very exciting! To avoid transaction fees I deposit to Coin Base Pro to Bittrex,Binance ect. Sad that my ACH is SEVEN days out to pick up Steem 🙃

        Hitting 7000sp in under a year is super impressive! Not something I think I’ll manage to do, so I’m so envious!

          Congratz! I’m half your ‘size’, but I have some SP on an exchange that I bought this week now the markets are low and hope to grow a little through trading so I can power up a bigger amount in a few months :-)

          These markets are a blessing for people like you and I who are here for the long term! Feels like we are given a chance to get ‘up there’ a little faster than we would just by posting.

              No te imaginas cuánto bien me hace leer tus palabras...
              A veces creemos que nuestras metas a corto plazo parecen tontas para otros, pero siempre habrá alguien como uno que las valora muchísimo.
              Mi caso es el siguiente: Inicié en steemit en marzo 2018, pero para ser sincero publique 3 cosas y la abandoné todo un mes o mas.. Luego entendí como debía hacerse para ir subiendo en sp mientras haces publicaciones de calidad, cada ve mas gente me fue conociendo y en la actualidad tengo 155 días y 52.5 de reputación y 43 de SP, (como tu dices) para muchos no significará nada, pero para otros, esto es el inicio de un inmenso camino en este mar de conocimientos.

              Sometimes we think our short-term goals seem silly to others, but there will always be someone like one who values them very much.
              My case is this: I started in steemit in March 2018, but to be honest I published 3 things and abandoned it for a month or more... Then I understood how it should be done to go up in sp as you make quality publications, each time more people were getting to know me and now I have 155 days and 52.5 of reputación y 43 SP, (as you say) for many will mean nothing, but for others, this is the beginning of a huge journey in this sea of knowledge.                     Unfortunately, I'm not in that position. I have no fiat income at the moment. Selling my steem hurts but that's life.

                      Its all good my friend, it's as you say, such is life. As long as you keep active, creating content everyday, curating and what not. You can offset that a little bit.

                      I've ran some numbers and you might think I'm crazy for saying this but a 8-12 % ROI per month just through Social Interaction is possible with highly active accounts.

                      There are plenty of examples of this, but it requires "a lot of activity" and of course people have different schedules.
