UlOG #11 - Do you have time for your kids? "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it"

in #ulog6 years ago (edited)

Yesterday, I took my two children to the office to study and to know their behavior and at the same time my wife can relax at home without any noise. I gave them something to make them busy and to train their skills in coloring.

Roulan and Gabi

These two children agree on what they want to do and their age gap is only 5 years. Roulans age is 9 and Gabi age is 4 and my youngest son name is Ryle Gian also known as "John-John" at the age of 2.

I'm happy with them when they play especially when I saw one of them is pissed-off and run away going up to the bed because of the small toy and no one wants to give up to give the toy. Nyahahaha... But in the end, I'm still interceding with them all.

I'm glad to see them playing but sometimes I'm upset because of my eldest son's unrelenting mouth and most often distressing noise which give you irritation or a headache!

The question is how can you overcome it despite the noise they make. My answer is, think positive to what they are doing and look to the other side of them why are they happy when they doing something weird and put your self to them and go back to your past at your young age and you will understand their feelings and thoughts.

My Firstborn "Roulan Geric"

Roulan is my eldest son. Clever, talkative, mischievous, soft-hearted, lazy sometimes, and mommy's boy. I always remember him when he was young, really energetic and naughty and always climbed up on high-side parts of the house.

Sometimes, his grandmother and grandfather are looking for him and do not know where he is hiding? They heard a little noise and looked at the top of the door, they saw him and cling to the iron door. Nyahahaha... And many more have happened.

Here in the office, his mother gave him something to do to finish. Followed by the coloring book I gave. By my observation, I have proven that he is really not in focus on what he is doing. Because if he just heard a little bit of noise he would look at it and talk to others until he forgot what he should do. This is the problem, no focus and I don't know what to do? But overall even his attitude or behavior is like that, I still hope for the changes to come.

Rheign Gabrielle and her Savings

I will not deny that she is my favorite, besides, she's my only daughter; canorous and lovely. The delightful in this kid that every time we have a coin, she takes it and drops it into her coin bank. She said, she wants to buy a Rollerblade.

At a young age, she knows how to save money and she is not selfish. Ask her and she will tell to use her money but of course, we will not use that.

We took her piggy bank yesterday to open up and to find out how much she has earned money for a couple of months. Then we would like to buy new slippers and shoes.

And guess what? She reached 155 AED accumulated money in just a few months that is equivalent to 2,246 Philippine Pesos.

... This little miss is amazing! I would like to follow what she did. For my piggy bank, I will do save 5 AED. Every-time I have 5 Dirham, I will drop it to my coin bank until next year in the month of January!

Then I would like to buy new shoes for my sports "Volleyball". I think the cost of this shoes is 420 AED equivalent to 114 US Dollar because this shoe that I like is for indoor shoe and the brand is ASICS.

This is the result of her Savings

Today, Sunday to my lunch break, after I went to the computer shop to look for one monitor for the office, I bought her two slippers the Dark Red and the Pink in GreenHouse Super Market. The color black slipper is for my youngest son. I would like to get one for my Eldest Son but I don't know the size of his feet.

And not only that, I bought a biscuit for them including ketchup, canned sardines, fish crackers, and 2 shorts for me! Nyahahaha... Now I am happy! A temporary happiness but permanent to my heart... Hehehe...

Have a great day guys...

parenting is challenging and at the same time very rewarding and it is only by God's grace that we as parents can do the almost impossible things for our kids and thank you sir kenny for sharing your parenting skills here, God bless po :-)

We have two kids too. 8 and 4. Both very quiet but mischievous. We spend time with them as much as we can. That's something they will look back too someday. And yes, train them as early as now to be the best they can be. Talk to them and instill in them manners and respect while they are still young. They'll bring it with them until they're grey and old.

Wow! That was great! Do you have a plan for another one? (^_^)

Soon, I hope, when we get old, they will take care of us like we did to our parents... Let's give them good memories of their childhood... (^_^)

Ahaha, no. I think we're good with two. But, who knows? 😊

Your daughter is such a darling! I can see why she's your favorite after all :) That's so wonderful na at a very young age, marunong na sya magtipid. I hope to be able to see my daughter like that one day. She just turned one so maybe a little longer pa :)

I have two boys, the eldest has many health issues and a reduced mental capacity which makes him mentally less capable then his younger 8 year old brother despite being 13 years older then him.

My 8 year old is bright, but sounds very similar to your eldest Roulan - he also climbs all over everything and is easily distracted from core tasks - in fact any excuse to leave a task unfinished will be found. I too hope it is many just a growing phase, and he will learn to concentrate and complete work in full to the best of his ability - unfortunately I do see alot of myself in him including the easy distraction!

I am really impressed with your daughter's saving skills, that is often rare to see in the young but a perfect foundation for the future - understanding and appreciating the value of money and saving for future purchases.

Thank you very much as well for the Witness vote, as a relatively new Witness I really appreciate that trust and I hope I will be able to prove myself worthwhile to you.
