Invitation To All Christians on The Steem Blockchain - Ulog Witness Update. 15 June 2018

in #ulog6 years ago (edited)

This update on my bridging project shall go into the details of what I am doing for one community here on our blockchain.

Many may already know, many more probably don’t, I am a Christian and I don’t hide or deny my faith and nor do I ever force it upon anyone. I’m no “Bible basher” as the common description goes for those who constantly try to convince others to convert! However I do say often enough when we talk about religions and our differences in views on topics that there is one thing that we can all agree upon, well most of us at least and that is “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. This was one of the commandments that the good man JC gave his disciples and had them pass it on to the world. Likewise it calls for responsibility from all parties involved, it isn’t just a “do gooder” type of moral in life, as it applies to everything, both good and bad, whether it be penance or punishment, one must always strive to be fair, just and correct towards others. But enough about that, I believe that I have made myself clear as far as that topic goes.

The bridging project that I am trying to make happen is for a Christian society by the name of Steemchurch (@steemchurch) which in fact uses the term Church in its most original and true context, “An assembly of Christians”. I had to make sure I defined this, so that people don’t misunderstand the name and vision of having an assembly of Christians on the blockchain.

I have been given the task and responsibility of being the Steem Witness for Steemchurch and man, this is a very important job. In my researching the posts out there I have seen so much abuse of the tag Christianity, I have been shown so many post farms/spammers simply quoting The Holy Bible and yet not doing so in any acceptable manner. I have been shown and seen too many posts which are absolutely nothing but deliberate abuse and plagiarism and all in the name of Christianity.

Steemchurch aims to do everything possible to help fix this and to ensure this comes to an end. Not only because it is our responsibility to do so, but because we wish to make a reliable and constructive service for all Christians on our blockchain. Quality for one and all and to show that we too as a community, an assembly of Christians on the Steem Blockchain are willing and able to commit ourselves to making the Steem experience better for everyone.
Now, I understand that many communities out there do not necessarily have a need or a want for a religious element in their meeting areas, i.e. in their “Discord servers”, that is understandable. However, no one can deny that within the vast majority of communities out there, many members are in fact Christians and as such can share their knowhow, experiences and help build bridges among people and communities.

As the Steem Witness for Steemchurch I take this opportunity here to ask every Steem related Discord community to invite their members who are Christians to come on over and check out the Steemchurch Discord server. I invite all community activists to freely contact me and I will gladly send an invitation link to you, you can find me under my username @jackmiller.

Lets see how we can get the best of both worlds for your members who are Christians and hopefully increase the amount of communications and sharing of experiences that could lead to further growth of all the communities out there.
If we can make this happen, maybe this can open a new trend among Steemian communities and we see synergy forming on all sides of our wonderful Steem endeavour.

I am really excited about this and I feel that if we try, that we could actually get things changing in many ways as time goes on. This is something that I take full responsibility for and in no way am I asking anyone to promote a religion or religious group, all that is needed is to mention it to your community and make this invitation available to those who wish to check it out and hang out with other people who share the same faith as them.

Thanks for your time,

Yours sincerely

Nice one Jack. I feel we can accommodate all the Christians on Steemit if they wish to join SteemChurch. I see the good work you've been doing on Discord. Have a great day.

Thanks @Jackmiller for your initiative to improve Steemchurch and steemit, doing the best we can is our greatest testimony.

Yeah, yeah. Synergy is what people who share same interest need in making a huge difference or impact in their sphere, or community which they belong to.
It's my sincere hope that this your "call for action and snergy" (so to say) will be nicely welcomed by concerned parties.
Thanks for sharing @jackmiller.
Kind regards.

Great idea. I would love to be part of this. I am all for fellowship with other Christians.
Blessings

Hi, @trendygran, I have sent you a response via Discord.

Completely in agreement with you friend @jackmiller, one of the things you can do and collaborate is to prepare the church with topics to help new members as they should publish, learn what is spam, how to mention other sources, etc. There are people who publish content from other sources and do not know how to put the source link. In @steemcourt we can see the consequences of the faults but we must also provide an instructive how to publish so that our community remains impeccable and thus give honor and glory to our Lord Jesus. It is like the word of God, He shows us the punishments of disobedience but also teaches us how we should walk, in this way if we miss the laws we already know that we deserve the punishment. I hope in my translation I could have what I wanted to say. I like to support @jackmiller account with me.

@jackmiller, I applaud the effort and will let people know that you are doing this. I myself believe that spreading information is important (especially when I trust the person giving it), and I agree with you that this is good for those that are looking for this kind of project. I will not do it publicly so that I don't make anyone uncomfortable, but I will make sure to let others know that this and the discord channel exists.

Good job and just another reason why I'm glad to have voted for and pushing for you as a witness!

cristo no es religion vivir en la presencia de Dios es algo maravilloso cristo es amor bendiciones.

Excellent my friend,

I see with great pleasure this initiative, and I congratulate @steemchurch and you as our witness, for trying to eradicate plagiarism and spam.

My wife @rosaimm and me, we are trying to build a Christian community "in Spanish" (@sehablacristiano), and we were affected by some users who wanted to be miners using the word of God, which led us to tell them to stop doing it or We would accuse with the steem cleanner. What they did was stop using the community tag, but I think they continue with their bad actions.

In the same way, care should be taken with people from different parts of the world, who plagiarize words, writings, Christian reflections, in their language. They translate them into English and publish it using the steemchurch tag.

Can you say that they are true Christians, who plagiarizes? there is the dilemma.

This is a pretty exciting idea. I would love to see a central hub for all things Christian to come together. I'll spread the news.
