Ulog 15: Executive summary

Yesterday was a long day working at my job. I woke up till 1 AM to finish a presentation to discuss with my managers today.

One thing that I have learned when making the presentation was the Executive Summary, which is, in my opinion, one of the most critical parts of any performance for management level.

What the hell is Executive Summary?

In short, it was a summary part of every report or presentation for academic or management report that summarizes the key points discussed in the statement following by a list of reccomendation.

Indeed, the Executive Summary should be something that the management can read in just 5 minutes. Let's put it in your minds when writing it.

Here is my sample:

This report provides an insight of factors that affect the changes in children behavior with smart devices, in which points out the primary reasons for the change was due to their parents who have limited time for them during their free time. Furthermore, the report explores the potential consequence that may affect the future.

Based on surveys and findings, this report suggests the following points:

• Parents should spend more time with their kid
• Parents should limit the usage of smart devices; and
• Parents should encourage the outdoor activities to improve health.

How do you think about the executive summary now? It's not, hard, but it takes time to write a good one.

Moving

Yesterday was also the last day in our remote office. We cleaned out everything and returned to the central office. It was nice to work in a remote place where you can meet people and expand your network. I will miss that co-working place a lot.
