Sijara Eubanks Submits Maia Stevenson
This fight was supposed to be the grappler vs the striker, but Sijara (the grappler) roughed up Maia on the feet as well as the ground.
In the first round Sijara was able to get a hold of Maia and started landing punches and knees all while controlling Maia by grabbing onto her back. Although Maia got back to her feet the round ended with her on her back and Sijara landing brutal elbows to the body.
In round 2 Sijara went for the takedown early and Maia was unable to stop her from advancing her position. Eventually her arm was caught in a kimura and she was forced to tap.Let me take this moment to remind you that Sijara was ranked 12th while Maia was ranked 5th.
The next TUF bout will be between #2 ranked Barb Honchank (Team Alvarez) #15 ranked Gillian Robertson(Team Gaethje). Needless to say, Gillian is the underdog here, but if this week's fight was any indication, then the rankings won't mean much.
