Francis Ngannou is Set to Fight Alistair Overeem at UFC 218
After the issue with JDS getting popped for diuretics Ngannou was left robbed of possibly the biggest fight in his career. After calling out top contenders left and right, Ngannou's requests were answered. He is now linked to a fight vs Alistair Overeem at UFC 218.
This really is his big break. Alistair was fighting for the title not long ago, and if he wins one or two more fights he will likely get the next title shot. But this might not be good news for Ngannou. If he loses to Overeem his hype train will completely derail and he would have to wait a while before his next chance at a title eliminator.
Truth is, he hasn't fought a striker as skilled as Overeem before. But we know he's got power in his hands, and Overeem's chin feels like it's made of glass lately. We could be looking at a knockout, that is if he can actually land his big shots on such a talented and technical striker like Overeem. If he can pull off the win we'll have two very exciting u and comers in the HW division, him and Alexander Volkov.
