Mark Hunt Has Paid A Price For His Lengthy MMA Career
Hunt has been fighting since 2000, first kickboxing then MMA. He's known for being K-1 kickboxing champion. He's fought in K-1, Pride FC, and of course the UFC. This guy's been around a while, and he's fought some of the biggest names in the sport. Cro cop, Barnett, Overeem, Mousasi, Emelianenko, Wanderlei to name a few.
It's with heavy heart that I read this article saying how he's apparently experiencing memory loss and speech slurring. I hope it doesn't get worse for him. What makes it worse is that he has been fighting cheaters his entire career as he's pointed out recently. Especially considering he's fought in Japan for so long.
This is why we need a fighter's union. Truth is fighters don't have long careers, and they risk the helth of their brain every time they step into the octagon and most of them won't make much money over their short career. The fighters need to be compensated better. I'm not saying all people should make as much as Mcgregor but they should make more than they are now. Only the ones on top are doing well, most fighters are living pay check to pay check.
