Tuning into Feeling 2 - Hearing - What do You Feel when you HEAR things?steemCreated with Sketch.

So how did you get on with Day 1 - Sight? I do hope you had lots of fun, as well as insightful moments doing the 'Sight Exercises!'

As I said yesterday, it's ok if you didn't feel much. This tuning in is a skill that needs developing, a bit like playing a musical instrument or getting really good at a sport. The more we give it our positive attention and focus, the better we will get and the easier it becomes!

Why do we need to tune into hearing?

Our intuition or soul guidance can often be an invisible voice that we hear, so we don't actually hear it as sound, but more as a thought.

You'll know the negative ones really well! Those constant chirping outs 'not good enough', 'can't do this' etc. So what we're wanting to do is to tune into the 'good invisible voice' that is encouraging and supporting us! Do you know that one? If not then time to find it and listen to it!

Being aware of what sounds are going on around you is another way of tuning into your inner self and listening to that 'invisible good voice'. Life is a lot easier when we can do this, so let's crack on with today's fun activity!

Today's Awareness Ideas with Hearing and Sounds

I'm pretty sure you can guess what we are going to do today . . . yes hearing sounds and noticing what we feel!

Probably when thinking of sounds then music is something that comes to mind, but we do hear so many other sounds during the day, so why not write down all the sounds you are consciously aware of hearing today!

Here are some examples of what you might hear in an average day:

  • Alarm clock - buzzer or music?
  • People in your home talking
  • Noise in the kitchen, cutlery, crockery, cupboard doors etc
  • Kettle boiling, dishwasher, toaster popping!
  • Your shower, the water falling
  • Maybe your singing in the shower if you do!
  • Your car starting up
  • Music in the car
  • Other traffic noise
  • Trains, subways, motorbikes
  • Office noise, computer sounds, phones ringing
  • Birds tweeting and singing

or for me this morning hammering from the apartment below, couldn't not hear that!

& whilst typing this post - sirens, steam train, seagulls and howling wind!

You can also go onto You Tube and maybe dtube and listen for some sounds that you might not hear around you such as:

  • Waves on the beach
  • Waterfalls
  • Mooing cows
  • Wild animals
  • Hand clapping / cheering
  • Babies chuckling!

So over to you and what are you hearing today and what are you FEELING as you hear it?

Feelings that you might experience:

  • Laughter
  • Joy
  • Happy
  • Excited!
  • Peaceful
  • Relaxed
  • Surprised!
  • Annoyed!
  • Angry
  • Impatient
  • Sad
  • Upset
  • Overwhelmed
  • Stressed
  • Love
  • Content

Please don't judge your feelings, this is not about judging or beating yourself up, it's simply about awareness of what you are feeling, just tuning into feeling what you are honestly feeling!

You may notice that you can feel differently for the same sound

Normally when I hear a siren, I send Pure Love & Light to the people and situation, however, if I hear one in the middle of recording an audio, then I'm not so pleased and I'm more focused on having to re-record what has just been ruined!

You may find that the sound alters your mood

Music is of course well known to do this! We can instantly feel like jumping up and bopping around the room, (or not bopping and head banging!) when your favourite tune comes in, or we can feel loving, and remembering loving moments when we hear a love song, or we could feel sad on hearing a love song if we're feeling lonely in our life. Other songs are great for the gym, Eye of the Tiger and you find you're more energised and in the flow with it!

When I used to ballroom dance, I would dance so much better to the songs that I really loved! It's like you just feel the music and it sweeps you away!

Have fun with your choices and note what makes you feel good and what doesn't!

In a way it is like you said tuning into what is around you. We often go through life with little awareness for the small or special sounds. Your concept is like being present for the moment, living in the now. Even when trying to meditate, it is hard to quiet the mind. With time and practice it does get better. The mind is a very powerful tool and we need to steer it to what we need to focus on. I hope you are doing well. Take care! :D

Yes the message I'm sharing is to be aware through feeling through all 5 senses and then the 6th sense will be easier to feel! It is about Being Present in the Moment, so true and that can be so hard for so many, especially with mind chatter going on!

I was wanting to add my Free Audio to these posts and had some editing issues and couldn't do it on the first post, but I've added it to this one now. It is to flow Pure Peace & Stillness to our mind and quieten it, I'm sure you will love it! Here is the link - https://app.convertkit.com/landing_pages/177007
Hope you're doing well and have a wonderful day! :)

Just wanted to let you know that I did go to your link and heard your wonderful Pure Peace and Stillness to quiet the mind. Beautiful audio and very helpful! Thank-you so much for sharing this gift of peace! :D

Oh thanks @cabbagepatch! I'm so pleased you enjoyed the audio and feel the peace! Thanks for sharing this. You're most welcome! :)
