How to make a lip balm
Hi!
Is there anything that instantly makes you feel better? Without which you feel like you were left alone in the middle of vast desert? Yes, it's a lip balm. Are your survivalist senses already tingling? Today we're gonna make one for our own. It's really easy, let me show you.
You'll need:
- teaspoon of bee wax,
- teaspoon of coconut oil,
- couple drops of essential oils or the mixture of them. I use grapefruit essential oil.
And some accessories:
- a pot or anything that we could use to melt ingredients in water bath,
- teaspoon,
- some empty container.
Ready? Ok, now…
Do as I say:
Put bee wax in the pot.
(Here how bee wax looks like)
(We need only a teaspoon)
Add coconut oil .
Melt them together in water bath.
Take the teaspoon or other metal thingy and dip its tip in the mixture. NB! It would be better if it was cool. Then the balm will congeal faster.
Wait until the mixture on the spoon congeal and check if consistency is OK for you.
If it is too hard, add some coconut oil and when it is too smooth – add more bee wax.Go back to 4. Repeat until it gets proper consistency.
Add couple drops of essential oils.
Spill the mixture into prepared container.
Wait until mixture congeal.
Enjoy your very own lip balsam.
Final notes
It's done, congratulations. From given recipe you get about 5 grams of lip balm. For me that's enough – I like when it ends quite quickly so I can make new one, with new fragrance for example. I think I'll replace coconut oil by some other oil in the future.
