One Might Ask: What is a Curation Trail?

Curation is where one can earn rewards by curating someone else's post. On Steemit, when you upvote on any post, the curator (you) will gain 25% of the post's total payout which comes 7 days after said post had been published.

Now a curation trail is basically you delegating your voting rights to someone else. (Hopefully someone you know will make good use with your votes.) It's almost like an investment of sorts.

A more in-depth guide on what curation rewards are and how to use them here.
A good explanation to curation trails here.

The Pros and Cons of a Curation Community and Trail

Pros

  • A place that like-minded people can come together and share ideas or ask for suggestions.
  • A place that you can use for post-promotion.
  • If you follow their voting trail, you're able to become a patron for someone's post.
  • Auto-Voting can increase your curation awards. You follow the voting-trail of a curation community and in return, you can earn curation rewards from the posts that they up-vote.
  • Helpful for those users who are inactive and will still be able to gain rewards from posts that they've up-voted.

Cons

  • Following a voting trail can cause a disconnect between voting and engagement with the post.
  • Ability to drain your voting power quickly if the trail is used incorrectly or the user is unaware of the number of posts the account follows.
  • If you have low voting power, you aren't able to up-vote posts that you believe deserve it.
  • If the community is big, it's hard to get your opinion and input heard, much less a quality post that you've made.

What Makes TrojanWall Unique

The TrojanWall is a relatively new community that seeks out people who make quality posts and rewards them for it. It's a small community at the moment but we strive to become bigger, and personally, I prefer smaller communities. There are many communities such as cryptoctopus and curie but it's easy for your voice to get lost in such a large community. What's unique about the TrojanWall community is that your opinion is easily heard, and your posts do get noticed in the post-promotion. Another thing that I enjoy is that you're able to suggest posts that you believe deserves an up-vote because of the quality. The leader, @modern-trojan, reach out to them and invites them to the community also.
