Нiking trip to Hut Perelik, Western Rhodopes

in #travelfeed6 years ago (edited)

One of the longest hiking trips I made last summer with @outlinez and other friends was in the Western Rhodopes, Bulgaria.

The beginning of the trip started from hut Chaiyarski lakes. It is located at 1400 meters above sea level. , surrounded by colorful meadows, lakes and vast coniferous forests. One of the cleanest places in Bulgaria.

The hut is in close proximity to the Chairi Lakes Protected Area, an area known for its naturally formed landslides, meadows and centuries-old spruce forests.

We passed through the village Mugla. The village is called Mugla because it very often sinks into mist. The inhabitants of the village are famous for their hospitality.

Thank you very much @maquemali :-)! I hope I will make more of hiking trips this year! I wish you all the best ❤!!!
Cheers!

You are most welcome..

Well you have the whole year to plan it through. And please takes us with you again.. hehe

Thank you @maquemali! I will :-)

The scenes are stunning with all the refreshing greens. The mushroom is amusing. This is my first time seeing mushrooms as colorful as those. I wonder if they are edible?

The highest Rhodope hut looks lovely. It feels so peaceful living in that place without the hustle and bustle of concrete jungle.

That was a very exciting adventure with nature!

Hi @macoolette :)
The mushrooms are Amanita muscaria. They are classified as poisonous.
Perelik Chalet is really a wonderful place where you can get away from the concrete jungle.
Thank you for your comment!

Well, some beautiful things are dangerous or let's say powerful that we can not exploit. 😊

Is anyone maintaining the hut that it still stands there after all the generations?

Although classified as poisonous Amanita muscaria, after parboiling—which weakens its toxicity and breaks down the mushroom's psychoactive substances—it is eaten in parts of Europe, Asia, and North America. The mushroom was used as an intoxicant and entheogen by the peoples of Siberia, and has a religious significance in these cultures.
Yes. Perelik hut is working all seasons :-)

Oh, cool. That mushroom has its advantage and usability after all. But religious significance is amusing. I wonder what that is all about...

Did you camp in the hut by the way? You mentioned that you traveled 20+ kms that day. How many hours did it take you guys for that distance?

Yes :) , wе spend the night in the hut. Our trip this day lasts 7 hours 20 min.

Wow, 7 hours... I'd be flat exhausted after that. 😄

20km of hiking per day is a quite nice result. I remember when last time I went with my friends on the Norwegian hike on Trolltunga, which took around 8h and a bit more than 20km. It is extremely popular spot with many tourists everyday. Not everybody was well prepared for this kind of hike, I remember a lot of crying (with real tears!) people on the path.

I really like the way how you captured and reviewed your Bulgarian hike. Those huts looks like they were left over there forgotten by the humans and time. Very nice, close to the nature. You also had a great weather, sky was perfectly blue. Cool article man, good job :)

Thank you very much @cubapl! I'm very happy that the weather was great throughout all 6 days of our trip.
20km of hiking was tiring with the heavy backpacks on the back, but the beauty of nature gave us strength. We are particularly proud of the two children who were in the group and were walking bravely all the way.

great landscapes and amazing nature through the pics you can almost breathe the fresh air and feel the sun on your skin, enjoy your hikes thanks for sharing

Thank you very much @road2horizon!
