USA roadtrip: Shenandoah National Park 🌳 | Traveling on Country Roads 🚗
After certainly doing city breaks (New York, Philadelphia, Washington) we couldn’t have waited any longer for our first visit of a national park and to discover the freedom of open roads. These two things we probably love most on our USA’s road trips (and of course fast food).
Enjoying the American roads
At the entrance of the Shenandoah National Park we bought the America the Beautiful Pass, which is an annual pass for all American national and state parks and costs $80. So if you are planning to visit 3 or more parks you should purchase this pass.
Next stop Shenandoah National Park
Shenandoah National Park is an escape to recreation with beautiful nature and nice spots for doing a picnic.

We drove through the park and enjoyed the quite forest which have to be absolutely amazing during Indian Summer. Listing to “Country Roads” when you drive along makes your visit even better ;)
The Park itself hasn’t a real highlight and won’t make it in the Big 5 of our USA National Parks (ranking will follow soon). But it is still a nice and quiet place which is worth a more or less small detour.
On our road to Chicago we were in the need of a green place to do small picnic and a short hike. Maybe a visit in autumn, when the color of the trees is changing, could increase the ranking in the top 5 ;)
Missed our last stop?
