~ Twenty years without people ~ Journey to an abandoned mine ~

in #travelfeed6 years ago

Hello, dear friends!

This weekend I spend in the village where I was born. I haven't visited my parents ' house for a long time, so my children and I went on a little trip to visit grandmother. Previously, there was a large working village. Life was in full swing and actively developed. But for more than twenty years, this place is almost abandoned. Mines and factories closed. Young people moved to cities. And only old men now live in this village. I invite you to take this journey with me. And to see how nature reclaims territory from people over these 20 years. How gradually huge buildings and roads overgrown with forest and become truly wild.

The population of the village is unlikely to count more than 2 hundred people. When we got out of the taxi and headed to grandma's house, we did not meet a single person. Yes and during the entire walk us rarely come across passers-by. It's quiet. It's a bit like picture films about a post-Apocalypse. The silence and wild nature around. Grandmother told us that in winter, wolves and wild boars often roam about people's homes. But the old men do not intend to leave their village. Here has passed the entire their life, and they like its village. In the summer there is a truly heavenly blooming area. Perhaps nature really feels like the owner here. But now, in the offseason, the landscape looks surly.

My eldest daughter and I decided to take a walk in the old mine. I was there last summer, and this place really impressed me. Yes, and my daughter is now at an age when she likes all the unknown, abandoned and intriguing. Do you know the story of the abandoned city of Chernobyl? So this mine looks like it. It's also quiet, deserted and a little creepy. The closure of this mine was so unexpected that the locals still talk about the fact that this closing did not happen by chance. Most likely, this mine hides some secrets. Local rumor has it there was a release of radon in this mine. And so the mine was quickly closed to avoid a disaster. But this version is not officially confirmed. With the closure of the mine, the life of the village also stopped. Now it's just a deaf, abandoned place, which is difficult to find on the map.

It is so strange to walk on familiar streets where my joyful childhood passed, and not to learn these streets. That's all changed. Then there were a lot of children, we had fun together. And now around empty. Only frightened cats look out from the yards.

All paths are covered with grass and flowers. These are the first spring flowers. It's raining, and they look so fresh. In this area there is a wildness and primeval nature. Trees and bushes every year more and more grow, broad roads that I walked in childhood, now became narrow paths.

It is a beautiful flower that grows right out of the snow. We were lucky enough to find a rare species of blue. This blue flower almost completely disappeared from our places earlier. It is protected by ecologists as a rare species. But here it grows everywhere. Nature feels confident here.

On the way to the old mine we meet a lot of interesting details. Huge trunks of old trees covered with moss. Fences of the empty houses on which the lichen grows. Here as if everything says that this place does not belong to people. Nature reclaims its rights here. It is interesting to observe how this power of nature grows year after year. It will be a few decades, and nothing will remind you that once flourished here active human life.

And here we got to the territory of the mine. The main thing that attracts me here is the high clay mountains, they are called terricones. Was clay mined in this mine, and these huge mounds stayed here. I like to shoot landscapes from the height of these hills. They offer great views of the endless forests surrounding the village.

Many buildings here are in ruins. Roofs overgrown with bushes. This place is in the peak of its destruction. Among the wreckage of buildings live seagulls. They are so anxious shouted when he saw us. Apparently, the people here are rare, and the birds were afraid of us.

This place is pretty dangerous. We didn't dare go inside these dilapidated buildings. Their roofs and walls can collapse at any moment. I'm sure there could be some amazing finds inside. Still, I wouldn't dare take that risk. When we passed near one of the buildings, inside there was a noise. Probably, some number of bricks collapsed. But it was really creepy. So we hurried to get out of there.

The day was cloudy. The clouds began to gather, and the landscape looks so bleak. This has added to our journey such a touch of drama accompanying this place. But still we decided to continue our way to the main place to which we were going. We went here to climb one of the piles, and watch from the height of nature. Here we are. It's a delightful feeling when you look down at the world like it's in your hands. I've never been to the mountains, but I think it's an incredible feeling. Even climbing this small hill I feel incredible thrill.

Clay mountains, like all around, gradually overgrown with grass, bushes and trees. The slope is covered with flowers, it is very beautiful, especially in summer. But now that the forest around is still bare, the landscape looks a little boring. I will definitely come back here when the summer will decorate everything with its colors.

It's very windy up there. We didn't stay there for long. The weather began to deteriorate, began a fine rain. And we hurried back to grandma's house. My daughter was very curious to walk around these places, listen to my stories from childhood. It was difficult for her to believe that quite recently everything looked different here. There was seething life, the people here were actively engaged in the Affairs. There was a large school, and everyone had a lot of joyful hopes for the future. But suddenly it all stopped. My father worked this mine, he was an engineer. Here passed the years of his life. And now from all this there were only ruins. It's sad. So large villages die out, turning only into a small invisible point on the map.

We're back with grandma. She was a little angry with us because we went to the mine. Locals don't like this place. A few years ago, several suicides were found in the ruins of the mine. Now this place has a bad reputation. But if you are not afraid of ghosts of the past and love the thrill, or you like deserted abandoned places, then you can visit this mine. I think it would be nice to make a movie here. This mine will be a great decoration for filming horror stories or stories about the post Apocalypse. Silence, isolation and darkness reign here.

When we returned to the house, the gloom left us. Grandma's so cozy! She baked us delicious pies, cooked delicious soup. We had a great meal and spent the whole day in a joyful conversation. The children heard a good old wives ' tales, and were very happy with our spontaneous trip. The grandmother's house has a special atmosphere of kindness and love.

My kind mother, thank you for everything.

Путешествие Сталкеров! Так мистично и загадочно, и, черт возьми, опасно!
А великолепные цветы добавили некоторую романтику! В общем, круто!

Many thanks)))

Beautiful photos and story! The deserted village does make me think of a setting for a horror movie. Though there is beauty in it! Nature is slowly taking over. Thanks for sharing this post!

Fantastic story and well written. Thank you for sharing this experience. The photos also. Yes the place looks creepy but so much history and interesting to see what has been abandoned. I look forward to your summer return.

Wow. This must have been a powerful experience. I recently returned to the home I grew up in. The trees were so much taller, and the field and garden near our house were almost entirely swallowed by forest. It was a testament to change and the brevity to life. Thank you for sharing your story! Resteemed and followed.

Thank you very much for reading and commenting. I'm glad you found my story interesting.
