Travelling fascinates me. Who doesn't? It is one of the best ways to relax and de-stress, have fun and explore the world around.

Come with me, as I take you to this European-inspired spot in the metro -- The Venice Grand Canal Mall.

The Vibe

Located at upper McKinley Hill, Taguig City, Philippines, the Venice Grand Canal Mall is dubbed to be the Philippines' Most Romantic Mall. Why wouldn't it be? With gondolas and love padlocks, the operatic music singing in the background and the laidback, slow paced feel is definitely a go-to place for couple, barkada and family dates.

Staying here would really make you think twice whether you are still in the Philippines, much less think you are in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city.

Suddenly, time slows down.

The Gondola Ride

Sadly, I passed on the opportunity to ride the gondola. Not now, not yet.

I feel it is a bit pricey. Php250 per head for a ten-minute ride would just whack my budget if the three of us in the family would give it a try. Lol.

Anyway, it was fun looking at the passengers who were able to afford the ride and wouldn't miss a moment of taking selfies or groufies.

There's More to it than Gondolas

Walking through the mall, I noticed that although it is a lifestyle mall targeted to upscale consumers, the place welcomes people from all walks of life. There are fastfood chains like Jollibee and McDonald's!

There are interesting tiangge stores too.

Mushroom made crispy. Chicharon-like. I prefer the plain over the salted one. Masarap! (Yummy!) Mushcharap! The name just fascinates me, as well, like an LSS song, I kept saying it over and over in a pa-bebe-way --- Mush-charap, mush-charap. Lol.

Therere is something for chocolate lovers too. Interesting "hugot-lined" chocolates to give to someone. Very witty, very creative.

Sold for Php35 or three for Php100, you get to have a taste of "Venice".

Sit back and relax

If you happen to be tired from all the walking, then Venice Cineplex is the solution. It houses five cinemas, so that's five movies to watch should you decide to have a movie marathon.

Their plush VIP Cinema takes pride in having the most comfortable seat. With luxurious leather lazyboi seats and a butler service (no long lines on the popcorn) Php540 (depending on the movie) is guaranteed to treat you like a real V.I.P.

Feel like a celebrity in the red-carpeted pathway, their plush seats, cool interior, complete with free drinks (water and sora of your choice) and unlimited popcorn! Yeah, movies and popcorn is a perfect combi. So you better watch out you might be seated next to a real celebrity

A famous quote says that travelling is the only thing we spend money on that makes us rich.

So yes, travelling is a great avenue to not only discover new things and places but also bond with friends and family. Creating memorable moments, making memories.
