Travel Pro Places of Interest #5: Parque Seminario "Iguana Park", Guayaquil Ecuador! (19 photos)
Hey there my Steemit friends! Welcome to Iguana Park! This is one of the more famous parks in the city of Guayaquil. It's more like an iguana petting zoo than a typical park. I really have no idea how this place began to have so many iguanas but people love to come here, feed them, photograph them, and even hold them in their arms! To say these iguanas have gotten use to being around people, well that may be an understatement!
More formally know as "Parque Seminario"; it was about a kilometer or two walk from where I've been staying in the city of Guayaquil. Along side of this park is the beautiful Metropolitan Cathedral. This is a very lovely and picturesque part of the city. On the weekends many people come and just enjoy the nice setting. Besides iguanas there is a big coy pond, filled with fish and turtles!
Everyone here seems to be in such a good mood. In the last photo you can see me with this little kid who was running around the park with his toy gun. No, that is not my Ecuadorian son, but this little guy had an interest in me. "Papa papa, look at the big tall white monkey" he said in Spanish. lol Or something like that.
This little fellow wanted to have his picture taken with me. So I too had my picture taken with him. I conversed with the family just a bit in Spanish. The Ecuadorian people are some the nicest and most kind in all of Latin America! Now come along and let's have a look at Iguana Park in Guayaquil Ecuador!

Wow all those iguanas... they seem very nice though. Some can be vicious and use their tail as a whip!
Yes I've heard of that. These guys however know they won't get fed if they start whipping the hands that feed them!
Hehe! Good point!
Iguana Park in Guayaquil Ecuador, what a nice place to be, playing with those animals and even feeding could be fun. Well-done @world-travel-pro

I don't know Dan... That kid sort of looks like you! haha! It looks like you had a fun day there.
Haha lol! Thanks Steve. I did have a very good time there. Trying to keep up with things from the Galapagos my friend. Shouldn't be that hard the interenet's top speed in all these islands is a bout 30k/s. Saying it's slowing me down would be an understatement. Thankfully I've got my account on auto vote and auto post! So glad to keep in touch with you when I can. Thanks for stopping by!
