Travel Pro Eats #20: La Lucha Sangucharia, Lima Peru! (3 minute video)

in #travel6 years ago

Hey there my Steemit friends! Welcome to another Travel Pro Eats Post here in Lima Peru! This time we are at the historic and famous sandwich shop La Lucha Sangucharia! There are several though out the city and this one is located in the heart of touristic district of Mira Flores.

What I really like about this district of Mira Flores is that it's not just a touristy area it's also where the middle and upper class Peruvians reside; so it's kind of like a normal neighborhood that is just safer and well policed. Even though I was offered a bag of cocaine right out in front of the place!

Besides that, the Lucha was a little pricey for Peru. Spending about eight dollars on a sandwich, fries, and a drink is a bit steep, but I had to try something from here as it's simply one of the most popular restaurants in the country.

Being one of my first Travel Pro Eat's Videos I was a bit off my game. Then I had no place really comfortable to sit. They put me next to Bruno, from Colombia. I was totally distracted in conversation with him, almost so much I could barely enjoy the sandwich and even comment on it.

The sandwich was actually a bit small as you can see, but it was tasty and of excellent quality. The fries were fantastic! Like, really really good! They cut the potatoes and fry them in house, fresh. But for eight dollars it was bit expensive for what you get, however the quality was top notch.

If money isn't much of an issue for you and you're willing to pay extra for top quality, then I'd definitely recommend this place otherwise there are better deals to be had. Until next time- Dan "World Travel pro!"

Bro, I absolutely love "La Lucha." I went there a couple times as I stayed in Peru for 2 months. It is pricey, but that is one of the most delicious and memorable sandwiches I have ever eaten.
It's so refreshing to see you post about this place.
You must be at the location in Miraflores right across from the park.

That is where I was! Very good sandwiches. The fries, incredible. Thanks for enjoying my blog, have a great day! -Dan

I am enjoying your blog. Thank you for taking us along.
I am now following you.

Eight Dollars seems steep for Peru! But on the other hand, the one thing you shouldn't save on in Peru is the amazing food!

While in Peru I was hitting up all the popular spots for my blog! lol It was a lot of fun. Years past I probably would not have eaten there. Now I've a got an excuse called "Travel Pro Eats!" lol

That's a pretty convenient excuse! When the Steem price hits 100$ you can do a series on three-star restaurants lol

A great Travel Pro Eats, even though it was one of your first ones. You got to capture a cool and popular spot where the (maybe a bit more affluent) locals hang out and get their grub. $8 is quite a bit for a sandwich that size and fries, but the quality must have covered all 8 dollars worth.

Yeah I probably would not have eaten there if it wasn't for my blog. It was quite pricey, but I've got a good excuse now to splurge a bit on this kind of dining....as Steemit is now covering the bill!

Nice one! Using the SBDs/Steem to cover the meal, that's when you know you have passive income. Yes, it is okay to splurge from time to time. You know when to do it as you're Travel Pro (2 weeks to starve myself silly and then 1 night to feast)! hahaha
Keep it up Dan!

Ha ha! Thanks guys. Very true!

Interesting post, definitely a very enjoyable trip ..

Hello Friend Dan, excellent story. The sandwich looked very good, but something small. I must insist that you take care of yourself, because even when the place may seem safe, there are very likely to be events or people who are not so good. Best regards.

Thanks for your concern my friend. I know what yo mean. Latin America doesn't have the best crime statistics and that's saying the least. In fact this is the primary reason I prefer Asia over Latin America. Here I have to look over my should and be super careful with every turn. I was even offered coke in front of this restaurant in one of the nicest parts of the city. So I know exactly your concern. But don't worry I have A LOT of travel experience and I'm very cautious and aware of my surroundings. Thank you so much for your kind words and thoughtfulness. From Santiago Chile -Dan

Friend Dan, I am glad that you are aware of the risks, and that you are still enjoying South America, and above all that you spread your kindness through your publications. I regret the incident with the drug, that is an evil that must be eradicated not only here, but throughout the world. As I mentioned once, Santiago de Chile is one of the best cities where you can be, as its economy is solid and that has had a positive impact on its development. All the best for you. Successes. Best regards.

Thanks buddy! Best regards to you too!
