A Quick Visit to the Modenapark, in Vienna
Today, I want to share with you a few photos captured around the Modenapark, when I visited Vienna, in June this year.
Let's start with this cute terrace, which belongs to the Restaurant zur steirischen Botschaft, located a couple of meters away from the Modenapark. This is a beautiful and relaxing place to rest in and fill up your energy, before moving on with your walk.
I didn't want to harass the people who were eating breakfast at this early hour - so I just took a couple of shots at a few empty seats and tables.
This is an Austrian Restaurant, specialized in food from the mountainous region of Styria but - for some reason I can't comprehend - there are a lot of references to the Himalaya mountains.
The decoration was fantastic, from the Buda images to the chairs, tables and umbrellas. A hidden gem in the center of the city.
There were regular seating places, like chairs and benches... and also a few places where you could eat while you were lying down. It's the closest thing you'll find to eating breakfast in bed.
The Modenapark is a small public garden situated just a few meters ahead. There's a cute little sculpture right in the center of the garden, depicting a boy playing clash cymbals and two panthers.
This piece is called the Scherzo-Gruppe and it was installed in 1913 by the Austrian Sculptor Josef Müllner.
Below the main figures, there are two statues crouching, as if they were reading.
Speaking of reading, right next to the statue there were a couple of ladies on their phones, reading all the info about the new upgrade (or downgrade?) coming to the Steem Network. You can see by the look in their faces they were not amused about the idea of the whales being better rewarded... at the expense of everybody else.

Centralised? Decentralised? It doesn't really matter. No matter the system, the Status Quo doesn't change: the little guy is (and will always be) the exploited one.
This park is quite small but a good hideaway from the neighbouring buildings...
To conclude this post, I'll leave you with a couple more sculptures, located in the facade of the building across the street.
Here we see two statues of a man and a woman, almost naked, covering themselves with just a small piece of fabric.
I took advantage of the Zoom in my camera to get this close up shot. Here, you can see the detail in the sculptures a little better.
I hope you enjoyed this post and photos. Leave me some feedback, if you wish.

The terrace is a place that exudes peace and tranquility. I like it a lot, if I lived in Vienna I would go there often.
As for little guys, they are small but ... many! Very useful.

Thanks. Let's hope we survive yet another crazy fork. 😆
Yes, this is after. Good that we still exist and at least hope for a change that will bring us another reason to stay here...or not!

That looks like a really nice place. Must write the name down and visit next time :)
The first time I was in Vienna, I didn't find it to be special at all... but my second visit changed my idea. 😆
Wow, that is interesting 😁
Vienna is so lovely! I visited it once quite long time ago. The Restaurant zur steirischen Botschaft looks really nice :) Thank you for sharing your pics!
