"Disgusting PATTAYA" - Part 2 [EN/DE]

Hello dear Steemians! I hope you had a good start into the week! Today I would like to present you the second part of my report about Pattaya! In the first one I already showed you the wonderful main attraction of the city. Today’s part is more about relaxation. Whoever comes to Thailand wants to enjoy the sun, the beach and the sea, but Pattaya is known for not having the most beautiful beaches and not the best water quality, so many tourists go to the south of the country for their beach holiday. Well, in fact some of Pattaya's beaches are full of rubbish and the water is neither crystal clear nor turquoise blue. Nevertheless there is a solution! Have you ever heard of Koh Larn Island? It is only half an hour by ferry from Pattaya's harbour and offers everything you could wish for from a dream island. I have visited all five of the small island's beaches and I went for a walk to its highest point to show you my impressions today:

Hallo liebe Steemianer! Ich hoffe ihr hattet einen guten Wochenstart! Heute möchte ich euch den zweiten Teil meiner Berichterstattung über Pattaya präsentieren! Im ersten Teil habe ich euch ja schon die atemberaubend schöne Hauptsehenswürdigkeit der Stadt gezeigt. Heute geht es mehr um Entspannung. Wer nach Thailand kommt, möchte natürlich die Sonne, den Strand und das Meer genießen, jedoch ist Pattaya dafür bekannt, weder die schönsten Strände, noch die beste Wasserqualität zu haben und viele Touristen fliegen deshalb in den Süden des Landes. Tja, in der Tat sind Pattayas Strände teilweise wirklich zugemüllt und das Wasser ist weder glasklar, noch türkisblau. Es gibt aber eine Lösung! Habt ihr schon mal von der Insel Koh Larn gehört? Sie befindet sich nur eine knappe halbe Stunde mit der Fähre von Pattayas Hafen entfernt und bietet alles was man sich von einer Trauminsel nur wünschen kann. Ich habe alle fünf Strände des kleinen Eilands besucht und auch eine Wanderung auf den höchsten Punkt der Insel unternommen, um euch heute meine Eindrücke zeigen zu können:

The ferry costs only 30 THB per trip. Officially there is a ferry every two hours, but from my experience I can say that it’s quite different in reality. I took ten rides all together and I never had to wait even for one minute for a ferry. At least in the high season, it seems like there are several ships going to the island and back continuously.

Der Fähre kostet nur 30 THB pro Fahrt. Offiziell gibt es ungefähr alle zwei Stunden eine Fähre, allerdings kann ich aus meiner Erfahrung sagen, dass dies in der Praxis ganz anders aussieht. Bei meinen insgesamt zehn Fahrten, musste ich kein einziges Mal auch nur eine Minute auf eine Fähre warten. Zumindest in der Hochsaison fahren anscheinend ständig mehrere Schiffe ohne Unterbrechung hin und zurück.

Here you can see how close the distance between Koh Larn and Pattaya is. At many places on the island, you can enjoy great views of Pattayas skyline.

Hier sieht man, wie kurz die Entfernung zwischen Koh Larn und Pattaya ist. Man kann immer wieder tolle Aussichten auf die Skyline Pattayas genießen.

In the small village at the harbour you will find a beautiful small temple and lots of shops and street food.

In der kleinen Siedlung am Hafen findet man einen schönen, kleinen Tempel und jede Menge Shops und Street Food.

Pickup trucks with seats bring guests to the beaches, but if you like hiking, you can reach almost every point of the island within one hour by foot.

Pickup Trucks mit Sitzbänken bringen die Badegäste zu den Stränden. Wer, so wie ich gerne wandert, kann aber fast jeden Punkt der Insel innerhalb einer Stunde zu Fuß erreichen.

Tawaen Beach is the main beach of the island and in my opinion the most beautiful, but it attracts a lot of people. If you like peace and silence, this is the wrong place for you! The white sandy beach is almost 700m long and offers crystal clear water and a lot of gastronomy.

Tawaen Beach ist der Hauptstrand der Insel und meiner Meinung nach auch der Schönste. Jedoch lockt er auch dementsprechend große Menschenmassen an. Wer es gerne ruhig mag, ist hier fehl am Platz. Fast 700m lang, ist der weiße Sandstrand, der kristallklares Wasser und jede Menge gastronomische Angebote bietet.

Samae Beach is the second largest beach on the island. Here you can find almost as many tourists and gastronomic offers as at Tawaen Beach. At the northern end there is a beautiful viewpoint and if you follow the path further on, you will arrive directly at Tien Beach.

Samae Beach ist der zweitgrößte Strand der Insel. Hier findet man ähnlich viele Touristen und gastronomische Angebote wie am Tawaen Beach. Am nördlichen Ende gibt es einen schönen Aussichtspunkt und wer dem Weg weiter folgt, gelangt direkt zum Tien Beach.

Tien Beach is only accessible by foot via some footbridges. This beach is a bit calmer than the two main ones and the tourquoise blue colour of the water is especially impressive here.

Tien Beach ist nur über einige Stege, zu Fuß erreichbar. Hier geht es schon ruhiger zu und an diesem Strand ist die Farbe des Wassers besonders beeindruckend türkisblau.

Nual Beach is the second smallest beach on the island. The number of visitors is modest and you can find some calm stretches of the beach. But I have to warn you! In contrast to the other beaches, the internet connection is very bad here. So if you want to relax at this beach, you would have to live without Steemit for a few hours! ;-)

Nual Beach ist der zweitkleinste Strand der Insel. Der Besucherandrang hält sich hier in Grenzen und man kann auch ruhige Strandabschnitte finden. Ich muss euch aber warnen! Im Gegensatz zu den anderen Stränden ist die Internetverbindung hier sehr schlecht. Ihr müsst also ein paar Stunden ohne Steemit auskommen, wenn ihr hier entspannen wollt! ;-)

Ta Yai Beach is very nice and quiet. It is the smallest beach on the island. There's only one restaurant, but you can relax wonderfully and also here the water is turquoise blue and crystal clear!

Ta Yai Beach ist sehr ruhig und gemütlich. Es handelt sich um den kleinsten Strand der Insel. Hier gibt es nur ein Restaurant. Dafür kann man wunderbar entspannen und auch hier ist das Wasser türkisblau und kristallklar!

This is the highest viewpoint of Koh Larn. The ascent is not too difficult and the wonderful view of the island, the sea and the coast of Pattaya is definitely worth it.

Das ist der höchste Aussichtspunkt Koh Larns. Der Aufstieg ist nicht allzu schwierig und der wundervolle Blick auf die Insel, das Meer und die Küste von Pattaya sind es auf jeden Fall Wert.

The highest point of Koh Larns can be reached over 250 steep, uneven steps. Think carefully about whether you really want to do this. Upstairs there is no view, only a small temple in the forest and the path is a bit dangerous as there are no railings.

Der höchste Punkt Koh Larns ist über 250 steile, unregelmäßige Stufen erreichbar. Überlegt gut, ob ihr euch das antun wollt. Oben gibt es keine Aussicht, nur einen kleinen Tempel im Wald und der Weg ist nicht ganz ungefährlich, da es kein Geländer gibt.

Would you have thought that there was such a dream island just in front of Pattaya's coast? Believe me, the beaches of Phuket are not better at all. My assumption that you don't necessarily have to go to the south of the country to spend a fantastic beach holiday in Thailand has been confirmed. I hope I could inspire some of you who are looking for a beach holiday to take a trip to Pattaya. In the next and last part I will show you what else the city has to offer regarding fun and entertainment. I can tell you already that it's quite a lot!

Hättet ihr gedacht, dass es vor Pattayas Küste so eine Trauminsel gibt? Glaubt mir, die Strände auf Phuket sind auch nicht schöner. Meine Vermutung, dass man nicht unbedingt in den Süden des Landes muss, um einen traumhaften Strandurlaub in Thailand zu verbringen, hat sich also voll und ganz bestätigt. Ich hoffe, ich konnte in diesem Teil auch einige von euch, die Lust auf Badeurlaub haben, für einen Trip nach Pattaya inspirieren. Im nächsten und letzten Teil werde ich euch zeigen, was die Stadt sonst noch an Spaß und Unterhaltung zu bieten hat und so viel kann ich jetzt schon verraten, das ist nicht gerade wenig!
