TRAVELMAN lost in INDIA: Goodmorning Jaipur!

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

I was lost in Jaipur, it was morning, and I was carrying both my bags. I’d arrived on the bus at 5 AM after a 12 hour ride from Haridwar after having discovered I accidentally bought a ticket to Jaipur instead of Jodhpur. The sun was up and I was running across interesting places in my wandering, so I made the best of it.

This is Albert Hall. I knocked on the door and asked if Albert was home, I said he was my uncle, Uncle Albert. They said he was indisposed.

When we last left Travelman he’d wandered into a park. This is what he found; a group of older Indian gentlemen gathering in a circle. They raised their arms in the air and began laughing in a bold manner, a forced laugh, but a laugh. It was laughter Yoga in the morning in the park and it was awesome. I regret not joining the circle and trying out my stand up routine, "...And what's the deal with the old guys in the park waving their arms in the air? I mean do they just not care? Are they landing aircraft? And whats so funny anyways? Is my fly down?" Forced raised arm laughter follows, faked, but still encouraging to my comedy ego. (lighten up, a stand up routine goes through a shaping process. I'm shaping it.)

You can see a big fort on the hill in the background. I never found my way there...

These old guys were also doing some form of yoga, awesome!

Then I heard music, people singing and tambourines. It was coming from a building at what seemed to be the front of the park. I walked through the back entrance. A security guard/doorwoman and a metal detector that did not appear to be functional waved me through (The woman waved me through, not the non-functioning detector).

I soon discovered this group of people gathered around an empty stage. I didn’t stick around to see who appeared on the stage but I can only oassume it was a morning performance by Bon Jovi...

The temple held some world records. Pretty impressive, a big roof? The most oil lamps? At once? Wow!

This was a palace in front of the temple. I walked into the courtyard. A guard in a fancy uniform came by and chased me out because it didn’t open for another and hour a half. He wasn’t really a guard, more of a docent...

This is Albert Hall again which I ran into after walking away from the palace. They would’ve let let me in to Albert Hall but I didn’t have a hall pass (Rimshot). And their Hall Monitor is a very dedicated 15 year old honor student with no friends... So I didn’t go in.

I found myself walking down a road that went through a university. It had a medical school. I figured it was a good place to find someone who spoke English and maybe a computer with wifi. I found this guy. He let me use his phone to look up directions to a hostel. He was a young med student and very nice. We’re now Facebook friends and he’s reading this now. Hi!

This is another fort I passed but never visited. It’s made of pillows...

I passed these statues....

Blue Beds Hostel was awesome and I highly recommend it. This coffee shop was downstairs. They delivered my bill in this thing. The check was stuffed in the chimney...

A nice hostel...

And after Blue Beds helped me book my train ticket, I boarded that train the next day for Jaisalmer...

Hi Travelman. Just posting so that you have someone to upvote and put crytoindex further down on your page. Darkness on the Edge of Town is a great ablum btw.

Looks like a great place to get lost at :) I can't image what kind of shock it is to find out that you're somewhere else than where you're supposed to be! But it seems like everything went well at the end and you even made a new friend on your way! Great post :)

Hi @theywillkillyou... I feel a bit disturbed typing your name. Thanks. It was a lot of fun being lost for a minute in a foriegn country. It wasn’t fun lugging all my belongings around with me though. Episodes like this make me love my trip, it’s adventure and fun.

Hi @theywillkillyou... I feel a bit disturbed typing your name.

Hahah oh man, sorry to disturb. Don't be alarmed though...it's just the name of my YouTube channel ;)

Hey thanks cryptoindex! Wow so good of you to randomly give me life advice! And then you’re so happy with yourself that you upvoted yourself and graciously left me without an upvote so that I could learn in the darkness of a no upvote but a comment that has nothing to do with my post. I’ve learned so much from you crytoindex. Thank you. I must meditate on this.

I just upvoted your comment @travelman since this fucker didn't upvote your post. Namaste.

Fuckin’ Namaste! lol

Well, at least the comments don’t seem to be robotic, so I’ll give you that, unless you have a sophisticated bot. Auto bot! Wow the auto bots have infiltrated steemit. Are they the bad guys or good guys in Transformers?

If you’re referring to me enjoying being lost, then my sincerest apologies. Somehow I seriously doubt that’s the case.
