A visit to MUGHAL EMPEROR HUMAYUN'S GRAVE :

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

Hello Steemit Friends,

As weekend is on its end, i want to share what i did this weekend. I visited one of the most famous tourist spot HUMAYUN' TOMB in Delhi, the capital region of India.

Who is Humayun?

HUMAYUN is the second Mughal emperor who ruled northen regions of my country(India) which included my state. Apart from northen India, he ruled Pakistan and Afganistan too in sixteen century. His real name is Nasir-ud-Din Muhammad.

What is this place 'Humayun's tomb?

Humayun tomb is the first garden tomb of india and located in east part of Delhi, capital region of India. This tomb is made of red sandstone and it is quite an eye-candy, really really beautiful.

Entry Fee of the place really needs to be highlighted

Look at this :

Fee is 25 rupees(INR : Indian rupees) for Indian citizens and 250 rupees for foreign visitors. SUCH HUGE DIFFERENCE - TEN TIMES HIGHER. But yeah i have seen this at many places in india, that foreigners are charged really high. 😢 Sorry about it.

And there were a lot of lot of foreign visitors there.

Apart from this entry fee, there were no charges, just a local food shop where everybody was being charged equally.

Lets take a look at the tomb's EXTERIOR

See my face in this 😂😂

A shot from the entry of this place :

A side shot :

There were mini tombs too, this is one of them, and as i amtired walking such big place, so took a break :

See it was such huge place, i am in the balcony of this tomb, not on the grounds here :

This is where i got my first pictures shot when i entered because it was shady here otherwise it is Scorhing summers here :

Lets take a look at the tomb's INTERIOR

There was this beautiful net window from where sunshine was coming in designs, here is the inside of it, outside of it and me in it. 😋

Here are the graves, apart from humayun's , other graves are of his queens with whom he ruled my country.

The place was beautiful indeed with great architecture to please eyes. Visiting such historical places once in a while is good and important too.

I like this post, you have a new follower. the tomb seems so cool to see. ok tombs are usually sad places but this one is so beautiful to see!

Thankyou so much @noemilinastorta , following you back, hehe yeah place was beautiful 😊😊

The tomb looks really cool, would like to visit it someday. But why is the entrance fee for foreigners so high? 10 times higher will discourage a lot of foreigners from visiting

@jasonshick i think that is because of the high currency difference in USD AND INR ... one USD = 63 INR....maybe thats is ehy indian government try to charge high to foreigners

I see what you're saying. I just wish people didn't base everything on the american dollar. There are lots of foreign countries besides america and their money isn't as strong. Anyways, thanks for the response

Yeah but USD is the currency king of world economy.

They are not trying to charge high from foreigners but the fact is our Indian currency is currently 64 times less than USD. So, in order to fill the gap they fixed an entry fee of 250 INR which is equal to roughly $4. So, saying that government charge 10 times from the foreigners is just an exaggeration @thatindianlady

  1. 4$ you said, i am comparing INR : 25 rupees for indians and 250 rupees for foreigners ....makes it 10 times... i am talking about INR
  2. Yeah i agree with currency thing, now here is my point, suppose i visit US , where a foreigners pays one dollar for a candy, i do not get to pay 1 rupee because of my currency differce, i pay 1 dollar
Similarly wheneVer a foreigner visit india, if indian pays 10 rupees they should also be charged 10 rupees not as per dollars. JUST BECAUSE THERE IS A DIFFERENCE OF CURRENCY, PEOPLE SHOULD NOT BE CHARGED IN A BIASED MANNER.
  3. i love my country so there is nothing like exaggeration, those are just my views, everybody has theirs.

Though thanks for reading my article so well @cryptonet 😊😊😊

Well, you have explained way too long. My purpose was to say that you should make a good image of India, people generally take it in negative way without even thinking about the currency difference that Indian government charges 10 times higher than domestic charges.
I am sure you won't take me as wrong, I respect your views by the way :)

Yeah i understand the country image part, will take care from next time onwards. Dont worry i am going to show a rocking india here 😉😉 we will rock steemit.
