in #steemit-health7 years ago (edited)

Dear Steemit friends,

I believe you will definitely find this article of value and it would help you in some way. I have tried to put my best in this article.

Scorhing summers are around and going for a swim is one of the best ways to relax our bodies and bring our body temperatures down.

Everbody loves to swim or if not swim then just to lay in a pool corner and chill in the water.

Almost 90 percent swimming pools around the world contains CHLORINE, to disinfect water.

To disinfect water is good and to Swim is also good, but the negative effects of the chlorine mixed in pool water cannot be denied. And studies have brought forward that the hypochlorite salts used in pool are one of skin cancer causing agents.

And CANCER IS BAD, so we must protect ourselves in the bestest ways possible consciously.

I also swim but i cannot quit swimming because of chlorine fear so i try to make sure that i let chlorine do the minimal damage to my skin. Swimming is a good and easy workout for whole body plus its fun.

I have put a considerable amount of time and energy in finding out what exactly can i do to save myself from swimming and still enjoy it. Below I am sharing the best hacks i use to save myself in a good format such it will be an easy read for us all. 😊

Eyes are one of the most vital organs of our body and we must take care of our eyesight.

When we swim it is unavoidable that water won't go inside our eyes, so wear a pair of SWIMMING GOGGLES to stop chlorine water from coming in contact to your eyes

Do not let this happen to your eyes, take them Seriosuly.

Wear a pair of protective goggles like these, also one more benefit is that you will be able to keep your eyes open when your head is inside water.

Buying a pair of swimming goggles is a good investment you will be doing for your EYE-LIFE.

Our hairs are one part of our existence that plays a major role in our looks. Also the pores on our scalp are the easist entry way for any chemical to harm us. During Swimmig, it is unavoidable to stop water and hair contact with each other, so, USE A SWIM CAP.

By using a SWIMMING CAP like below, you can stop harmful chemicals from entering your scalp pores thus preventing damage to our neuro system. Also you can oil your hair which will act as a protection layer between your hair and chlorine water.

Swim caps are a little expensive but it is better to spend some money on buying a swim cap rather than getting treatment for cancer later on.

Skin is the largest organ of human body and it comes in direct contact to every fatal element on earth, be it sunlight, chemicals or anything harmful.

While swimming, it is unavoidable to save skin but steps can be taken to reduce the harm.

PROVIDE A PROTECTION LAYER TO YOUR SKIN.

Apply either oil or cream to your skin. I use coconut oil which is cheap in price and easy to get and best part IT IS WATERPROOF AGENT. OR you can use sunscreen or anti-tan lotions which will be quite expensive if you swim very often.

TAKE A SHOWER BEFORE YOU STEP INTO POOL WITH SOAP, YES USE SOAP

Ever wondered, why do they ask you to take a shower before swimming. There are two reasons :

--- One, which most of us know is, to keep the pool free of the bacterias that are already present on our body.

--- Second, which you might not know, there is always some amount of ammonia present on our skin because of sweat and when you offer chlorine to this ammonia by not taking a shower before swim, CHLORINE+AMMONIA creates chloro amino acid which will harm you only. So you MUST use soap to remove that ammonia you carry on your body.

So this is for yourself that you need to take shower if you do not give a damn about 'keeping the pool clean' reason.

TAKE A SHOWER AFTER YOU SWIM AND APPLY PROTECTIVES

Yeah i know now, it feels like too much shower a day. Believe me i take 3 showers a day, one before swim, one after swim and then one before sleeping to keep things good with my body.

A shower after Swimmimg is necessary because you need to pull off that chlorinated water which you emerged into while swimming.

Now you must apply moisturizers and oils to maintain good moisture to your skin

Too much of the shower, would drain skin moisture and for long term care of your skin, you need to invest into it. Put on a good moisturizer or body lotion on your dkon after you swim.

Make sure you wash your Swim Cap, Swim Goggles and Swim suit after your every swim to remove the collected amount of chlorine which dried up with water on surface of your swim assets.

I know following all this is too much for just a swim???? But trust me on this, this is all a good investment for you to save yourself from cancer and other waterborne diseases.

A VERY LESS NUMBER OF THE SWIMMING POOLS ARE OXYGENATED AROUND THE WORLD. And if you have access to one of those, you my friend, is a celebrity. Hihi
