Your travel plan - Prag city trip - Three Days

in #travel6 years ago

Hello Steemians,

Prologue

I love to travel, it's not always so easy and cheap to travel with three children. But where there is a will there is also a way. Since I have been travelling a lot since my childhood, with my parents at that time, and now with my own children, I would like to share my experience with you here. I was in more than 50 destinations and the continents are still missing only Australia. All hotels, sights and information listed here have been researched extensively and selected according to my comments, ratings and best knowledge. Of course I can't guarantee for anything, but I and many of those who have used my service have driven well. Which also reflects the feedback I receive.

Prag

The Czech capital Prague is one of the most popular destinations in Europe. With a thousand years of history, the city on the Moldova offers an incredible wealth of art and cultural treasures. Poets, artists and thinkers created their works in Prague. Large builders have created majestic buildings. Not only Prague Castle and Charles Bridge, but also the sights of the second, third and fourth rows are impressive. Did you know that there is a John Lennon wall in Prague or with the Cross Club the craziest disco I've ever seen, yes I was there!

*Today's destination: * Europe -> Czech Republic -> Prague

*Type: *City trip
*travel time: * 3 days

The journey

By train 🚊 :

The Main Station Praha hlavní nádrazí is located in the immediate vicinity of Wenceslas Square and the National Museum. If the check-in at your hotel is still closed, I recommend to put the luggage in a locker at the train station and to go on a pilgrimage to the city centre with the metro line C, which is directly connected here.

By bus 🚌 :

The best international supplier for bus travel is here Flexibus. From many European cities these buses go directly to Prague, mostly to the bus station: Florenc from where it continues every 5 minutes with the metro lines B and C into the city centre.

By car 🚘 :

in the city there are different zones where you can park your car, it is important to note that you have to keep your finger off the blue zone, this is only for residents and you will have a claw on the tire if you miss this. The best option is to use one of the many P+R parking lots and then take one of the metro lines to the city centre, here is a small cost overview.
Parking zones - green zone: approx. 1,50 $ (30 CZK) per hour
Parking zones - orange zone: approx. 2 $ (40 CZK) per hour
Public car parks in Prague: approx. 2,50 $ (50 CZK) per hour
Guarded parking in Prague: approx. 2,50 $ (50 CZK) per hour
Park & Ride parking in Prague: approx. 1$(20 CZK) per day

By plane ✈ :

The Airport near Prague can be found in Letiště Václava Havla Praha his airport code is PRG. From the metro station Nádraží Veleslavín there is a bus line 110 to the airport every 5-10 minutes. Alternatively, there is the half-hour airport express bus which takes you directly from the airport to Prague Central Station. The trip costs 3 $ or 60 CZK (children 6 - 15 years: 1,50 $ or 30 CZK)

Take the cogwheel railway and up to the viewpoint Petřín (Laurenziberg). Afterwards it goes to the curious KGB-Museum. Over the Charles Bridge, or another bridge, your way leads you directly into the old town. There you can see the old Jewish cemetery which also seems bizarre. The Alchemium Speculum is an enchanting continuation. Continue exploring the Old Town at your leisure, but make a great end to the evening with one of McGee's Ghost Tours of Prague.

Special sightseeing destinations

Lazne Pramen

This SPA is anything but usual here, you will experience some unforgettable hours in a beer or wine bath. The baths themselves last 20 minutes. While you can relax in a whirlpool bathtub made of oak or larch wood at approx. 36°C, you will not only contribute to your well-being, but also treat your body and skin to something good. In this virtual tour you can get a picture of what to expect. At the end of the bath you will make yourself comfortable in a hay bed and relax and stay for a while. A truly unique experience for two or four persons.

Abbey Strahov

This monastery is truly a special highlight in Prague, where you can find the richly traditional library in Prague, which is decorated with countless baroque frescoes dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries. More than 200,000 writings and 50 volumes can be admired in the library itself. Restored antique writings can be found there and in the so-called Wunderkammer you can admire scientific and archaeological writings. A true must for every book fan but also lovers of art come in the picture gallery at their expense and basically the premises are simply beautiful.

It should be noted that

  • McGee's Ghost Tours of Prague book at least one day in advance.
  • Speed limit: In urban areas, the maximum speed is 50km/h, outside urban areas 90km/h and on motorways and many expressways 130km/h.
  • Here the current exchange rate for CZK on X-RATES
  • Mobile phone: Since 15 June 2017, the domestic tariff has been in force and there are no roaming charges (for europe mobile contracts).
  • You can mix all targets as you like.
  • However, I have planned all destinations and restaurants in close proximity to each other.
  • Check the distances if necessary. sometimes the metro has to be used.

Seasons

The Prague area has a mild climate, with average temperatures in the winter not below -2 degrees Celsius and in the summer not above 26 degrees Celsius, with June, July and August being the summer months.
