Tour to Korean National Central Museum with My Mom

in #travel5 years ago

It was a fine weather, so my mom and I went to Korean national museum.
As soon as arriving at the Museum, mon want to walk through the park in front of the museum. Even though I had dropped by there several times, it was a first time to walk down to the park.

My mom seemed happy to enjoy green colors of various plants an, d spring flowers.

Walking along the small alley, there was a park of pagodas. I didn’t expect such many pagodas were located in this park.

First pagoda I saw was made at the last period of Goryeo dynasty. it was a seven story pagoda.
What made me impressive was this pagoda was brought here from Geaseong located in North Korea. Gaeseon was the capital of Goryeo dynasty. After Korea war, we could not cross over the boundary line between South and North Korea. It is called MDL ( Military Demarcation Line). Sad history.

At the opposite direction, the twin pagodas stood.
Those were made at Silla dynasty which existed before Goryeo dynasty.

The arrangement of pagodas were very excellent, they seemed to show and compare with those pagodas between Silla and Goryeo dynasties.

Sort:

It sees so quiet and interesting.

Two sets of pagodas from totally different eras--it reminds me of a MacNeice poem:

Soundlessly collateral and incompatible:
World is suddener than we fancy it.

Two different dynasties and two different styles of architecture from two different periods brought together despite each being on separate sides of the Military Demarcation Line.

It makes me wonder if one day Korea might be unified like Germany - it seems unlikely, like a snowy day and pink roses protected by a window, but who can say?

There's more than glass between the snow and the roses.

Have a good day, my friend.

Oh those greens are green.. 😂
Beautiful view.
Must have been a nice time.

Very nice pictures, how many pagodas are there in total? how you discovered those places? Thanks for sharing!

Interesting, would love to visit Korea someday ;) . Although its a small country, but I bet people there are amazing. Just wondering what camera are you using?

Seems to be nice place with a big green area, it is nice to have so many strong and old trees around. Nicely cared after the park, I can imagine people just enjoy being there and enjoy freshness of plants and trees. Especially your mom who loves to paint the landscape and her painting to hundreds of small leaves are impressive.

The pagodas are sizeable, only seeing a human figure on their background the one can appreciate the majestic size and shape. I wish you and your mom nice weekend :)
