RE: Tour to Korean National Central Museum with My Mom

in #travel5 years ago (edited)

Two sets of pagodas from totally different eras--it reminds me of a MacNeice poem:

Soundlessly collateral and incompatible:
World is suddener than we fancy it.

Two different dynasties and two different styles of architecture from two different periods brought together despite each being on separate sides of the Military Demarcation Line.

It makes me wonder if one day Korea might be unified like Germany - it seems unlikely, like a snowy day and pink roses protected by a window, but who can say?

There's more than glass between the snow and the roses.

Have a good day, my friend.
