📷 Feodosia dacha "Milos"

in #travel6 years ago (edited)

Considering the old mansions and villas of Feodosia, built in the past centuries, I want to share with you these architectural masterpieces. Located on Aivazovsky Avenue, villas Milos and Victoria will surely attract your attention and will not leave you indifferent.

The cottage "Milos" was built in the Greek style by the Kharkiv architect Mikhail Piskunov in 1911. In some places there are elements of neoclassical style, look at the Majesty of the various details.

On one side of the mansion you can see a cozy corner gazebo with a snow-white copy of the sculpture of Venus de Milo, after which the cottage was named. This gazebo is in some way the hallmark of Theodosia, it has long been painted on different booklets and calendars.

After the Civil war, the statue was stolen, and the gazebo was empty for a long time. Only in 1970, the Theodosian sculptor Boris lets sculpted a copy of Venus, which is now in this place.

On the other hand, tourists can see the beautiful terraces with columns in the form of female figures, called caryatids. In the Greek temple of Erechtheion in Athens are almost the same.

On the background of a snow-white gazebo, rotunda, you can always make beautiful photos for memory.

However, today the premises of the "Milos" is the sanatorium "Sunrise." But the cottage was built for a Feodosiya merchant by the name of Crimea. He was a representative of the Karaite dynasty, who after the establishment of Soviet power emigrated to France, leaving his property.

The owner left, and his flower beds and a mansion still please many tourists. Here as well a lovely dahlias in bloom.

Nightingales sing, the sound of the sea is heard, and the memory of the past lives in another interesting mansion.
