Booloumba Creek Campground QLD
Simply beautiful, set in a massive eucalypt rainforest with walking tracks in abundance to make sure you can explore every inch.
We discovered this little gem while exploring, but we did not stay here this time. It was more a scout out and plan for next time.
You will not access this spot without a 4x4. Don't try during and after rain. Always do a walk through and check before crossing any body of water. Some bloke tried in a Holden station wagon, didn't work! We saw him getting winched out, car full of gear and water. Plot your route before driving in. It is a rocky creek bed and the rocks do move!

From what I can see at the camping site fires are allowed and all the fire pits had hot plates. Bring plenty of wood as you can not burn wood from the campgrounds. Toilets were in two blocks, all flushing. First block had cold showers but second block had no showers.
Toilets were pretty clean apart from wad of clean toilet paper on floor , think some kids just being wasteful. Did not see any bins so what you bring in you must take out. Would probably bring your own drinking water.
Swimming was great. Very clean calm water extremely deep in spots so take care with small children. A bit cold though !
There are 4 different camping areas, as well as a day area here. So plenty to explore from water falls to old gold mine site. Some of the campsite are right on the creek. It is well worth the drive.
Allow at least 3 to 4 days to stay here, the longer the better.
