Ancient Realm at Thailand-Cambodia border #Travelholic Episode 5
Hello Travelholics! I'm Ruel, your travelblogger from Philippines. Welcome to another episode of "Travel With Me!"
Aside from its beautiful beaches and intricately-designed temples, Thailand is also known for its long-preserved historical heritage. And today, we will explore one of the most renowned Khmer-style archaeological site built by our ancestors in the 10th century right at the border of Thailand and Cambodia in the province of Sa Kaeo. So what are we waiting for? Let's go!
From Suvarnabhumi Airport, it takes around 4 hours to get to our destination. As I mentioned, it lies at the border of two countries Thailand and Cambodia. If you plan to visit both countries, then I'd recommend you stop by at Prasat Sadok Kok to enjoy such ancient vibes.
There are several means of transportation, but we went there by car. But before going there, we got a bit hungry so we stopped by at a Vietnamese Restaurant for lunch.
By the way, before we eat, I'd like to introduce my travel buddies for today, P'Benz, P'Sak, Aor, and Janny.
I'd say Vietnamese food and Thai food have similarities. It's very tasty yet it wasn't expensive at all (about 3 USD per pax). Now that we've satisfied our empty bellies, we continued our journey to the ancient realm. Upon arriving at the area, you need to walk through these woods to get to the castle.
And yes, we finally arrived. The ancient vibes of this place really makes you wanna pull out the camera from your pockets to take instagram photos. Here are some of ours.
And this one is my personal favorite. I posted this on facebook with a caption "If ancient people had instagram."
The ambience of this place makes you rekindle the extreme hardships of our ancestors in manually constructing these stone castles without using advanced equipment we have today.
I guess that's all for today. If you liked it, please give it an upvote and let me know your thoughts in the comments. I hope you enjoyed travelling with me and stay tuned for more travelholic episodes.
