Some photos I took of beautiful Puerto Galera while I was in the Philippines...

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

Since 2005, I have visited the Philippines 10 or so times. One of the most beautiful places I've traveled to in the in the Philippines was Puerto Galera. It's a scuba diving hot spot a short boat ride from Manila. Here's the boat we took to get there...

The first place we stayed was 500 PHP per night - which was just over $10.00 US at the time. It's not that I couldn't afford a nicer place, but the hillside cottages had a breathtaking view...

You could do some walking around the island and see views of the bay like this...

We decided to splurge one night and stay at Red Sun, which is (or at least was at the time) the nicest hotel on the island. As beautiful as this place was, the only way we knew to get there was walk a very narrow path along the beach...

This place was roughly $100 per night, but honestly, it was worth every penny. It had amazing amenities. There was a private balcony with hot tub that looked out over the bay and a pooper on the balcony so you could do your business outside while your significant other lounged inside....

You could sit at the bar in the water and drink fru-fru drinks or hang out at the end overlooking the bay...

I have to say this was one of the most memorable trips in the PI. The nightlife was amazing, the people were very warm and welcoming. You could buy huge lobster for $5 from locals on the street and walk in a local restaurant and they would cook them up for you.

If you ever get the chance to visit Manila, I recommend a short getaway to Peurto Galera.

This was my first post on Steemit and my first attempt at writing anything in a long time. Tell me what you think :)
