Thanks @future24 it always makes me especially happy when a fellow diver enjoys one of my articles as I know that I've hit the descriptive 'nail on the head' lol. These Scuba Scribe articles are my first writing style on steemit and I hadn't done one in a while, so I ended up doing a 3 part epic 😆 Glad you enjoyed it m8, I'm hopefully gonna do a few more soon about a more recent Egypt trip and one about diving Cozumel, Mexico. Then if all goes to plan I'll be travelling for real and might be able to do a few on location which would be nice.
Fantastic photos! Haven't checked to see if @crescendoofpeace has read this, but she's quite the scuba diver herself, and claims to be an amateur at photography.
Ha ha. Made you jump ;-) Yeah, I was very worried at the time as it swam up off the reef and then it purposefully changed direction to avoid us. Just goes to show, most animals, even predators, just want an easy life :-)
We've been wanting to go for soooo long now. Diving off the Similian islands has been recommended by friends and family. It's something we will do before we leave Thailand (that's still undecided). Thanks for the in-depth writing and good quality photos - though we wouldn't want to cross paths with that sea snake like you did! It would have definitely bite us, it's just one of those things to happen. :p
You should definitely try the Similians for diving @travelling-two. This series was written from memory from 6 years ago so I don't know what the reefs are like now but at that time they were the best I visited in the whole of Thailand for sure. I'm glad you enjoyed the dive report :-)
Sam's sister was there two or three years ago and was raving about it still, so the reefs should be good. She also suggested a few islands closer to the Malaysian border (Koh Lipe and the neighboring ones), which she went to last year. If we would go, it will be towards the end of the year or next year as we're got some trips planned from now until October time. If only we had the time and money.
I have never been to the Similan Islands but this is certainly on my to do list :-). Your post is really good and I as diver just starting to dream. The photos are beautiful. If you are in Bali, come over :-). Sunny greetings

Thanks @dirkzett-english. Defo check out the similians. It's a shame that you look to have just left Thailand by your blog. Love some of the diving pics m8, especially those where you're being briefed. It brings back memories of diving the tropics, I haven't been out in just over a year apart from to the quarry here in the UK but that is not proper diving ;-) Hopefully this time next year I'll be in mexico/belize diving. Oh man In one of my snorkeling off the coast I experience a sea snake as well and it scared the crap out of me!
Yeah, they are freaky looking things to be fair but quite beutiful when they're swimming... above... but not below lol
It has been too long since we went diving, you really made me miss it! That was a great tale of adventure, with awesome pictures!
