Travel for free with Steemit - Budapest, Hungary to Budva, Montenegro - PT1

On the 17th of July, 8 of my friends and I started our journey to Budva, Montenegro.

According to Google Maps the trip supposed to be 11-12 hours, but it took way more for us. We knew it's impossible to make it within 12 hours, without stops, but it took us 15 hours, close to 16 to arrive.

Luckily we didn't have to wait much on each country's border, but we still lost time on that.

In Hungary and Croatia, the roads are excellent, most of our trip was on the highway there, but after entering Bosnia and Herzegovina, the roads become horrible. There is a smaller amount of highway there, but most of the roads are mountain roads, and it doesn't fit two cars at the same time without going into the dirt near the road. Sometimes it's really dangerous because there's not much space to move there.

The quality of the roads are better in Montenegro, but they are the same mountain roads.

War zone.

Because of the Yugoslav Wars you can still find a lot of active mines in the forest, near the roads. Leaving the road can be deadly there. There are warning signs there too. You should really not leave the path.

Because of the same war, you can see a lot of bullet marks on houses and unfinished houses there.

Forest fires

Because of the hot weather and minimal amount of rain, there are many forest fires in this two countries. Most of them are far away from the roads, but you can find some close to the roads as well. If you are going there, you should take care of this. On our way, we saw at least 10 forest fires.

Nature

Besides the quality of the roads, both countries are beautiful.
Both countries are full of amazing lakes, rivers in between some mountians. They look amazing.

After a long travel we arrived to our house it Budva.

They views are incredible... Look forward to more of your stories and picture :)

Glad to hear that!
I'm still waiting for more photos from my friends and ofc I'll share mines too in the upcoming posts. We have seen a lot of stunning views there, similar to the others in the posts and there are some photos from places you could never go without a boat because mines surround the river (in Bosnia).
The whole trip was a great experience, but you will see more soon. :)

Ok that's great I'm excited for your posts :)

Nice one! 🙌❤🙏😊

That's some spectacular pics mate, I really loved the images of forest fires. They are beautifully captured. Even the smoke is visible. This minute details makes the photos more lively.
Looking forward to your journey stories.

Thank you! Unfortunately, there was a lot of forest fires and this one was the closest, so I could make some better photos.
For the rest, the view was wonderful, couldn't really make a bad photo of it. Haha!
