Beauties of Yucatan: picturesque colorful houses of Campeche - part 2

I am excited to show you the second part of my photo collection dedicated to the stunningly colorful traditional architecture of the Mexican city of Campeche.
Since some of you might have missed the first part, I am adding the original text here.
Officially known as San Francisco de Campeche, Campeche City is the largest and capital city of the Mexican state of Campeche. Located on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico in the southwestern part of the Yucatan Peninsula, the city is currently home to some 220,000 people who refer to themselves as "Campechanos".
Founded in 1540 by Spanish colonialists, the city was built on the site of what used to be the ancient Mayan city of Can Pech. A significant part of the old buildings built by the Spaniards in the 16th and 17th century is still well preserved, giving the city its characteristic colonial atmosphere and the unique historic feel.
In the 17th and 18th century, Campeche City was frequently attacked by pirates and buccaneers, which is why massive stone fortifications were built in the city. Most of the fortifications is still preserved too, making for some popular tourist landmarks these days.
The majestic fortified walls and magnificent colonial churches and cathedrals of Campeche City look very impressive but it actually were the picturesque brightly colored old houses that made the biggest impression on me while exploring the city.
For long hours, we were just aimlessly roaming the old streets in the historic center of the city, admiring the vintage beauty of the colorful houses. I took a lot of photos there and after some selection and editing, I picked 40 that I would like to share with you here on Steemit. Not to overwhelm you with all the colors though, I decided to split the photo collection into two parts, each featuring 20 photos. Here is the second part.

I like to see all the very colorful hues they use. I also thin k the brick roads are pretty cool! I cannot get over how they do the wiring there! Seems they have wires going everywhere! I like how they did the flag going across!
Haha exactly - those wires! :D I couldn´t wrap my head around it either! Did you see this shot from the first part? :D Pure craziness.
That is a wonder that no one gets zapped!!! Thanks for showing it to me! I guess they know how to make it work. Cool colorful buildings though!

Really enjoyed checking out the colourful photos of this town. We love the colonial style and are actually considering heading to Mexico quite soon. We are always looking for different places to visit that are not so touristy and this place seems like somewhere we would love to visit and get on film!
Is there a special type of food from this town? Thanks for sharing!
I was actually surprised how non-touristy Campeche was! Despite all the beauty and rich history all around, you will meet very few tourists there. As for the food - yes, there are some local specialties but I forgot their names, the Mexican cuisine is so rich and diverse, you just discovering new dishes on every corner ;)
Very beautiful and colorful houses. I really like the historical charm, especially that not everything is perfect like in some European cities.
