Its been a while I made a post here on steemit due to my recent travels to different parts of my country (Nigeria), this travelling gave birth to this post.
I made a trip from the Southern part (Akwa Ibom State) of Nigeria to the Eastern and Western part (Abia State and Ogun State respectively) of Nigeria, there I noticed togetherness and unity in diversity.
This post is not about Nigeria but the need to build and protect our respective countries.
There is a common saying that "Your neighbours will only set your house on fire if you (the owner) calls it trash", in other words, people will only see and react to things (especially your country) based on how you present it. No place, continent, country etc is prefect.
"The reputation of any country is built, protected and destroyed by its indigenes"
4 Reasons we should protect your country
- Reputation: As said earlier, a country's reputation is built by its indigenes, a good reputation attracts favour.
- Your country is still the best: Yes, it's easier to succeed in your country so it makes it the best place still for you.
- You have no choice: As an average citizen in your country, consider the cost of leaving your country, the stress and the uncertainties.
- It's your Inheritance: Your country is the land of your fathers, posterity may never forgive you if it fails in our time.
How to Protect our Country
- Be a good Ambassador: Be a good representative of our Nation.
- Do the Right: Our good works will boost our country's reputation.
- Supporting our Leaders: Fighting our leaders is fighting our nation, our support will aid them achieve more.
- Staying positive: This will help us have hope for a better future for our nation.
