Do you learn when you travel?

Whenever I go to a trip I feel like I get a whole new perspective of what surrounds me, I'm able to understand what's going on by my own eyes, instead of hearing from someone else.

I believe that we also learn how to deal with what we have and what we don't have; we learn how to stay without a hot shower, to appreciate a hot shower, for example. This is important to understand what is valuable and gives us a chance to value the simple things.

I don't believe that aging necessarily results in more wisdom, specially after mid 20s.
But traveling really changes me. The learning process starts from the very beginning of packing things, realizing that you have many things that you don't really need or use. And that feeling of being detached from things (mostly material things) that you though you couldn't live with is amazing.

That's very true, travelling requires detaching from things, but after a while we get used to it. We come back home and realise that most of the stuff we gather at home are useless.

It reminds me of death, leaving everything behind to enter the other world, the unknown world. Even if have read every review and every blog about a place, still you don't know what to expect while traveling and trying to get to your destination.
