Being in а travel you have enough time for everything. The bus or plane moves you to another dimension, which is outside space, outside of ordinary life. Yesterday's run disappears somewhere. The step slows down and you calmly and relaxed walk along the street, see the unique beauty, carved doors, tiled roofs, blue sky. You enjoy life.

You are like a child who can afford the luxury of carefully examining other people without completely hiding it. An adult, in that other dimension, has many worries. And here you are shamelessly, not embarrassed by your curiosity, looking at a new city.





The young man with the help of a violin managed to lead hordes of toads outside the city walls, from the invasion of which the townspeople could not get rid of. The bronze toads, unlike the real ones, fell in love with the Torunians. A belief is connected with them - if you rub the back of a toad and make up something hidden, it will certainly come true.





This building on the Market Square attracts you to go inside. However, you can’t go beyond the reception, unless you bought a ticket for a concert of classical music or are not invited to one of the gala receptions that periodically take place here.

The slope of the tower is approximately 1.4 meters. How did it happen? Because of love! According to legend, one knight fell in love with a beautiful city woman and often visited her, which of course was impossible to do. As a repentance, he was ordered to build a tower, which immediately squinted, as if hinting at his sins. But not collapsed! What is eternal in this legend - love or repentance - is up to you.

The specific atmosphere of the city is created by numerous bourgeois houses with unique facades and portals, many of which are decorated with bas-reliefs and high reliefs of garlands, flowers, masks, people and animals.





There were no house numbers in the city, so they were distinguished by certain signs by which they were called - under the star house, under the golden lion house, etc.

Want another legend? One of them tells of the monk-crusader Hugo. Despite the vow, the young monk had the imprudence to fall in love with the townswoman Barbara, though without reciprocity. He did not find anything better than trying to abduct her. Running away from a fan who lost her head, Barbara ran into the fragile spring ice on the river and, of course, fell into the river and drowned. The horse, on which the lover tried to catch up with the fugitive, also drowned. He himself, clinging to the snag and praying earnestly, happily reached the shore and, as an atonement, took the vow to build a tower. The tower was built, but then squinted, in edification of the sinful life of its builder.
